I've been on many diets and lost weight only to gain it back. Along the way I learned that the best way for me to shed weight is a healthy lifestyle, not a "diet". Logging my food and fitness helps me to live in a healthy balanced way without consciously counting calories or feeling like I'm on a diet. I love the feeling I get after I eat a nutrient packed meal without overeating. I feel like my body is “humming”. I love "playing outside" instead of "working out".

So, after shedding 65 lbs and gaining 59 back, here I go again. But what's different this time? I've had a big wake up call... a health scare. I made a promise to myself and my husband (and silently to my children). I have the tools and the community I need (Spark People). And I have motivation, determination and prayer power to see me through. Not to mention all the healthy recipes I've collected along the way.

So here's to all of us on this journey. I intend to enjoy fresh air and sunshine, and every delicious healthy meal. I want to eat a rainbow every day!

My Goals:
highest weight: 294
start (again) weight 265 10/22/14.

My main goal is to be healthy at every weight I experience on my way to my ideal weight of 145.

Weight goals:
1 to 2 lbs a week


Reward: for every 10 lbs, a new silver charm for my charm bracelet.





My Program:
I'm making a lifestyle change instead of going on a "diet".

My healthy eating plan includes lots of freggies, grass fed meats & wild fish (small amounts), nuts, seeds & legumes. I choose to avoid gluten & sugar because I feel my best when I leave them out!

We are really cutting back on eating out, which helps us afford higher quality food. :-)

A nature walk or rebounding most days.


Personal Information:
I live in the San Diego area.

I have an adorable husband "bigwavejohn" who's my best friend, and a beautiful, zany bunch of kids and grand kids. I love my wonderful family!

I love horses, hiking, nature, singing, camping, reading, cooking and eating! And I'm on the lookout for new hobbies & interests this year.
