I am WORTH the Investment!

I'm in it for the long haul. Less worried about the number on the scale than I am with the way my clothes fit....and the number of miles I can run. Less worried about body inches than body image....because if I don't love ME right here, right now, then losing 5 pounds won't be fixing what's really wrong in my life!

Fitness is important. A healthy diet is important. But most important to me is equilibrium. I need a sustainable lifestyle that doesn't leave me feeling deprived! ...

Fitness is important. A healthy diet is important. But most important to me is equilibrium. I need a sustainable lifestyle that doesn't leave me feeling deprived! While I really enjoy active outdoorswomaning - running, biking, hiking, kayaking, etc. - I also enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings, dining out with friends without feeling guilty over the calories...and let's face it, at certain times of the month, chocolate is necessary.

This September felt like coming full circle. I joined SP under a different name in late 2008/early 2009, after I quit smoking for the first time (for roughly 15 months!) At that point, I weighed 173 pounds. This was the highest point of my quit effort, but not my highest weight ever. That came my sophomore year of college - when I hit 210-215.

I quit again (finally!) September 2013. And again found myself reaching a highest weight of 173. I'm breathing easier, and starting to build my stamina - and lose weight in the process.

My long-term goals are pretty simple: be fit and strong, live a healthy and happy life, and maintain a healthy weight range. I don't know yet what my goal weight will be...but for right now, I'm aiming for 145!

Current Status:
FRENCHIFAL had to break the run in half...the first leg, 2.08 miles in 19 minutes; second leg, 2.10 miles in 21 minutes!
