Making Changes Bit by Bit

Me Today - fifty with around fifty pounds to lose.

What I want - To eat healthy and exercise my way down to a healthy and stable weight.

Why - for many reasons, but the superficial one is, I enjoy fine sewing but don't feel like investing the time with laborious hand stitching on clothes that I hope to not fit into soon. French seams are an example. This is a seam that is doubled over on itself to encase the raw edges of the fabric. It makes a beautiful finish but ...

French seams are an example. This is a seam that is doubled over on itself to encase the raw edges of the fabric. It makes a beautiful finish but it's very hard to alter.

My Goal - I have a piece of beautiful periwinkle blue silk jacquard fabric that I would like to hand sew into a dress for myself when I reach my optimum weight, using french seams of course!

Thanks for the goodie . . . and for checking up on me! I'm feeling very healthy!!! Even though my weight loss has stalled, it's wonderful to exercise without huffing & puffing. I can "feel" the improvement in my health, and I'm really pushing my limits, too, with these new (for me) spinning classes.

You are so awesome for helping out your son! I hope he knows how fortunate he is. I'm glad to hear that he has solid footing on his recovery, and that you are beginning to be able to breathe better with your finances.

I have way too many clothes I hope will be taken in and in my case I will pay for the tailoring so- I needed to let it go. I thought about giving it to a relative or friend but to me that would seem perhaps insulting. It is a very pretty suit and very flattering. I am actually considering a bikini for next summer. emoticon
