Believe It! Achieve It!

In My Next 50 Years....

I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age
The ending of an era and the turning of a page
Now its time to focus in on where I go from here
Lord have mercy on my next fifty years

Hey my next fifty years I'm gonna be healthy and have more fun
Try to forget about all the times exercise didn't get done
Maybe now I'll conquer all my unhealthy eating fears
And I'll do it better in my next fifty years

Maybe now I'll conquer all my unhealthy eating fears
And I'll do it better in my next fifty years

My next fifty years I'm not gonna keep score
Cry a little less, laugh a little more
Find a world of happiness while I exercise off my rear
Figure out how to live happy and healthy while I'm here
In my next fifty years

Oh my next fifty years, I'm gonna watch my weight
Eat a lot more salads and not wait til it's too late
Drink more water and green tea and rarely have beers
Maybe I'll stay fit in my next fifty years

My next fifty years will be the best years of my life
Going to take time to smell flowers and be a better wife
Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear
Make up for lost time here, in my next fifty years

(inspired by Tim McGraw's song, "In My Next 30 Years")

Interested Or Committed?!

I cannot just be interested in losing weight and getting fit. I must be committed or my plan will not work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The time is NOW!
No more sitting around telling myself that tomorrow I will eat better and exercise. I have done that countless times in the past. I have regained all the weight I lost 4 years ago. Why did I regain it back? Because I didn't stick to a plan. So, the time is now!
I am trying to find an estrodial therapy that works for me and the pounds are adding up quickly. I really need to stick to my eating and exercise plan. I can't have side effects from meds plus bad habits. So the bad habits have to go! I want to feel and look healthy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some reasons I want to lose weight and maintain my success are:
1) To fit my clothes and stop buying larger sizes.
2) Have more energy.
3) Be healthier, it will lower my blood pressure too.
4) To feel younger, not frumpy.
5) No more hiding under sweaters.
6) Feel comfortable in Spring/ Summer clothes.
7) Be proud of myself for taking care of my body.
8) To be fit.
9) Healthy foods are better for me, inside and out.
10) So I can live a long, healthy life!

Before you put any food in your mouth, take three seconds to ask yourself three questions:
"Am I really hungry?"
"Does this item have nutritional value?
"Is this food splurge-worthy?"
Be certain that any extra calories are worth the extra time it will take to burn them off!

My Goals:
My goals are to adopt a healthier way of eating instead of always thinking that a sugar filled treat is a reward. I want to eat healthy foods that are good for me. I also need to exercise on most days of the week. I am thinking of these goals as a way of life for me and not just a plan that I can stop when I achieve my weight goal.

My Program:
My goals are to eat healthy while I count my calories. To do strength and resistance 3 times a week and to walk 3 days a week. I am not following any particular plan but what I am doing has worked for me in the past. I just have to do it!

Personal Information:
I am a 50 year old married female living in northwestern Wisconsin. I have been married for 30 years. I have a daughter that is married and we have 2 beautiful grand kids.

Other Information:
I am 5 ' 1". I kept my weight under 110 from the time I was 18 until I was 41. I quit smoking in 2000 and my weight went up to 130 (I weighed 130 when I went to deliver my child) I do not carry extra weight well at all. Just a couple pounds and my stomach hangs over my pants. I lost the weight in 2004 but gained it back. I have lost these extra pounds countless times. I am putting an end to that cycle!

Thanks for stopping by to check on me. I am happy to be at work today because I have internet and electricity. We still don't have electrity, and they are telling us the week of the 8th. Being on Spark is lifting my spirits somewhat though.

Thanks for stopping by. I cannot wait for spring and summer flowers. It's tough to grow a lot of flowers in this yard due to an abundance of shade, but I do have one sunny patch and love cone flowers, bee balm and lavendar. The photo is from our rock garden.
Come on spring...
