My first Spark Trophies date back to 2009. I have had weight issues since childhood and I have tried many different diet plans that didn't last. Just like you. My yo-yo dieting has left me discouraged, frustrated, and feeling hopeless at times. I didn't start at my highest weight when I came to SP. Somehow I had managed to loose some wieght on my own, but I was feeling stuck and needed some structure and support in order to move forward.

Since 2009 I have continued the struggle. Some times on program and some times off. After all these years I have not lost hope of achieving my goal and so I remain a SP fan.

2013 I trained for my first 5K, learned about and
The Beck Solution, and had my first hip replacement!
2014 I had my second hip replacement.
2015 I took the year off from the diet world and celebrated life!
2016 I struggled all year with a knee injury
2017 I am determined to succeed this year!

My Goals:
My goal is to reach my ideal weight as determined by a formula which takes into account not only my height, but also my age.

1. I will follow no special diet, but make my food choices from healthy options. No foods are off limits.
2. I will eat mindfully.
3. I will be diligent about limiting my consumption of alcohol.
4. Using the Beck Solution and 100 DWL I will learn to think like a thin person.

1. I will do some kind of exercise x 10-30 minutes 6-7 days per week.
2. I will follow a well rounded fitness routine/schedule.
3. I will increase my Daily Steps to an average of 7000 .

I will reach my goal weight by December 31, 2017.

Personal Information:
I am 64 yrs. old. 5'9" and about 10 - 20# over weight. I have a DH that has spoiled me for 43 yrs. We have 1 DD who is married to a great guy and they have given us 2 grandkids that we adore. My DH and I are retired and we are making the most of these years while we are able.

Other Information:
Sometimes I think I can make fun out of a rock ! That is how I picked my handle "funloven". I love to have fun :) My hobbies include my Motorcycle, Reading, Gardening, Cooking, Scrapbooking, and Socializing. I frequently tell people I retired from work because it interfered with my social life. LIVE LIFE TO IT'S FULLEST is my motto.

    Oh I can just see my DH planning a meal! Your comments gave me a jolly laugh. Bad enough he asks for terrible stuff for special holiday meals. Stuff his grandma used to mae that he tells me I can do well. Most times I am the chief cook and planner too. But exactly as you describe goes on in your house. in my house he is a night snacker. Only his selections are terrible. Of course when I am not in a Beck frame of mind I am right there next to him with my own pint of Ben and Jerry's and my own spoon. I have concluded it is boredom eating. These days I am in a Beck sweet spot so I am feeling too good to be bored. Funny how that works, eh?

    At some point I guess I will have to ask myself if I am killing him with kindness or at least contributing to the delinquency of a senior.
