Taking it slow and steady! That's what works for me!

2013 - I've been here since 2005! I work at this thing every day. I have ups and downs, but I keep going. I'm very motivated by the inspiring people here! You all are GREAT!!

FITNESS - I work out at home using exercise DVD's, Sparkpeople videos, Health and Fitness on Demand, or YouTube. In addition, I walk almost every day from 1 to 5 miles per day. FITNESS - I work out at home using exercise DVD's, Sparkpeople videos, Health and Fitness on Demand, or YouTube. In addition, I walk almost every day from 1 to 5 miles per day. I also volunteer at a local animal shelter which provides me with a great work out! Walking the dogs there is no stroll! Most of them have never been on a leash and pull! They really give me a good work out for my mind, soul and body! There is always cleaning to do there, too.

NUTRITION - For breakfast and lunch, I eat almost the same things every day. Breakfast is cereal or oatmeal, 1/2 bagel with 1 tbsp whipped cream cheese and a small amount of butter during the week and usually have one egg (instead of cereal) on Saturday and Sunday. I still have to have coffee, but I drink decaf these days.

My favorite lunch is a whole bag of cut up Dole Romaine lettuce salad, 1 tbsp dried cranberries or 5 fresh strawberries sliced, a few whole almonds or a tablespoon or chopped walnuts, and 50 grams of turkey breast or chicken breast. Add to that one tbsp balsamic vinegar, one tsp olive oil and a sprinkle of italian seasonings..mix well and eat! My nutrition tracker is shared. Please feel free to spy on my eating habits!

I enjoy trying new recipes for dinner and turn to SparkRecipes frequently for ideas.

Thanks for the NEW Goodie, too! Right now I'm waiting on my sister in law to come over. She's a nurse and will look at my ankle. It really hurts today---a very long day at school: field day! I hope I didn't do anything to mess it up. All of a sudden around 2:00 it really started throbbing again. I don't have anyone with me but my daughter will come on Sunday to do some chores. Thanks for thinking of me!

And I can't believe you broke your wristS!! Both of them? How awful! Yes, if my husband was alive life would be so much easier, especially now!

Thanks so much for the Goodie! This has caught me SO off guard! I'm a first grade teacher in a small private school. I'm a widow of 2 years and I HAVE to work! Getting around these last 2 days has been a real challenge but I'm learning as I go. It will be a long 6-8 weeks of navigating but I will do what I can and hopefully come out ahead! If I can do this, I can do just about anything!

Thanks again!

Mary

"My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no one's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny."

Thank you for commenting on my blog, "What Not to Wear?" Have a great day!

PS: Did you know that What Not to Wear has been cancelled? This is their last season! I'm really bummed about that.
