Losing weight, just like all the rest of Life, is always about learning to deal with both the expected (and hoped for), along with the unexpected.

All planning ahead should come with a huge "Maybe" written in the small print. (Which is not the same as saying "I'll try," because that only sounds like an escape clause.)

This is accepting that Life can interfere with the best formed intentions. Learning to go with the flow and remember that nothing is permanent are my true goals.

Even while using all the traditional methods of losing weight, I hope to rely upon using a mindful approach and the spiritual wisdom I find in Buddhist ideas as my foundation, guide and strength.

My Goals:
I would love to weigh anything close to the "normal" weight for my height! I can't even remember when that last applied to me :-)

My Program:
Using a sensible plan for eating, low-ish on carbs (other than vegetables & fresh fruits), mostly vegetarian, with occasional times of salmon and other healthy seafood for the essential omega oils.

It seems important to me that we learn to value the concept of "enough."

The Four Noble Truths
1. There is suffering.
2. Clinging to/craving for what is pleasurable and aversion to what is not, lead to dissatisfaction.
3. Suffering ends by letting go of the attachments.
4. The Noble Eightfold Path is the guide for letting go of attachments.

5. Right livelihood
6. Right effort
7. Right mindfulness
