I have been through an up and downhill battle of the bulge for some time now. I recently realized I am at my all time heaviest weight. That was not my finest moment.
I decided to make use of several tools to help me alone my journey: Spark, Fitbit, a registered dietician, and an Endocrinologist. Although I am not Diabetic, the Endocrinoligist and Dietician recommended a Diabetic Diet Plan for me, Spark has a Diabetic Planning option that is so easy to follow! I am finding I do not feel hungry and craving unhealthy food! I am excited to find something that I can do without feeling deprived.
My mini goal is to lose 25 pounds, so I can clean out my closet again.
Long term, I will lose 84 pounds. I am not going to put a time constraint on it. I would rather celebrate mini goals along the way. That helps keep me motivated!!
I am tracking my food intake using Spark's recommendation and incorporation various exercise (5-6 hours per week cardio)
I finally visited an Endocrinologist and Registered Dietician to provide additional tips, and that has given me additional information and motivation moving forward.
I just purchased a Fitbit, and I am looking forward to using that as an additional tool to keep me on track.

70 Hour Work Week - and I fussed about a 30 hour week.
But, I do remember when I was younger (a few years ago) and my husband was in school. I worked nights at the hospital full time and came home to do "day care". Had a daughter 4 and cared for 4-5 babies from 6 weeks to 2 years. I enjoyed that time so very much. Loved my night job - also caring for babies.
Did this for about 4 months.
But, you did say this is temporary and you do have an end date.
Somehow, that does make it a little easier.
Blessings to you,
