I am forty-eight years old, married, mother of two adult children and grandmother of three adorable sweethearts. Fitness is very important to me and am a certified fitness leader. I get the biggest pleasure out of working with others and watching them achieve thier goals.
Although I do like to workout and am pretty active I have found that I too, have been struggling with my weight throughout the past year. I am chalking up the slower metabilsm to quitting smoking and the change of life....I just can't get away with eating like I used to.
This site is awesome, although I have only recently joined it, it has made me become aware of what I actually consume in a day and what my weeknesses are.
I find it realy works at keeping me motivated to get to the gym and it is inspirational to read other peoples success stories.
Whether someone needs to lose 50 pounds or 10 pounds we all need encouragement to realize our goals and this site is a great place to share with and feed from. Hoping to make many "sprark" friends along the way.

Follow a training program for the marathon
Doing resistance training every day
Yoga twice a week
I like to mix my workouts up and always challenge myself

I live in Rural Manitoba
am a fitness instructor and own a small gym. Although I do know quite a bit about working out , I found I needed some education on nutrition. I find I am learning so much through this site.

Other Information:
I love to help people reach their goals and find it so rewarding to have a little impact on someone's health.

    Thanks! Nice to meet you. You offered some really great tips that I will surely think about now. I was tracking religiously for 2 years and did find a lot of success but Im at work 12 hours a day now and on weekends...its just overwhelming so the tracking has suffered because of it. I see the ramifications of NOT tracking though so I will definitely need to make it a priority again. I know i am eating way too many fats in my diet. I was overloading on sugar since Thanksgiving and never stopped. Its what hurt me the most but Im slowly trying to get out of that phase. Im not adding sugar to anything. When I crave sweet, I'm opting for dried fruits or real fruits but just started that this week..hopefully I can stick to it. I am measuring myself. I've actually gained 5 inches in my waist and 4 in my chest. My hips are the last place I gain weight, but I think I gained a couple of inches there as well. Again, its because of the poor eating habits. thanks for the advice though. Appreciate it! :)

    I agree with what you said on the message board about goals. Everything you said is so true! I think it is ridiculous that the number of servings for fruits and veggies a day are not higher. I couldn't do that. I eat up to 11 or 12 a day. I also find some of the weightloss shows on television hard to believe when they are losing up to 17 lbs in a month! With your get as much as you should attitude there is more give to the whole dieting idea.
