MARCH 29, 2013 -- A YEAR FROM NOW, YOU WILL WISH YOU STARTED TODAY!!!

Well, in 2012 I didn't lose alot of weight, but, I gained health, which is so awesome.

I quit eating wheat in January 2012. Read Wheat Belly....EVERYONE!! Read it, seriously.

I feel really good. I don't really have anymore joint pain, except for one ankle. I'm happy about that.

December 2012, my darling husband quit eating wheat after seeing Dr. William Davis on the Dr. Oz show. We'll see if he finds it works for him. I sure know it does terrific things for me (except I'm still fat)

A restricted-carbohydrate diet doesn’t make you lose weight; it corrects your weight.

It's now June 5 (already), I haven't lost anymore weight. I just don't try hard enough. It's silly not using the willpower to just spend a few weeks (okay a few months) addressing my diet and fitness. Though, I am brilliantly keeping track of it all and certainly know where my downfalls are! So, that's important. Well, we'll see how June goes.

May 1, 2011

Well, I am not really losing any weight, so, I have to revisit my diet ideas (what diet ideas)
But my exercise, fitness and lifestyle changes are working out. So it`s a start.

April 24, 2011:
I am 47. gulp! I don't feel 47 and I am always surprised when I look in the mirror. Who is that fat broad?

In my head I am maybe 32? I would like my body to match my mind.

I spent the last couple years very uncomfortably with plantar fasciitis(SP) and sciatica issues. It kept me from walking and excercising.

Finally, my legs are pretty much normal and I have started walking again. Yesterday I walked over 5 miles. Yes, me feet were sore and I had to have a nap in the afternoon. But, it was awesome!

My Goals:
I have to lose at least 40 pounds. I started here needing to lose 60+, so, I am getting somewhere.

I want to be fit to ride my horse. The more muscle and less fat I have, the better rider I will be.

And sometimes I just want to look hot (at least a bit, I don't feel hot right now)

My Program:
Low carb and wheat free all the way, baby!

Spend as much time outdoors as possible. I have a couple acres of garden to take care of, dogs to walk, a horse to ride, lots of calorie burning things to do!

Personal Information:
I live in BC Canada with my fabulous husband of 17 years, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 2 horses on a small acreage that I just love.

I have become fit enough and painfree enough to enjoy hiking again and just working around the property again.

Other Information:
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't take care of your body, where are you going to live?
--George Carlin

I'd rather be sitting on my horse thinking about God, than sitting in church thinking about my horse.

The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.

Thanks for replying to my post about the Atkin bars during Induction Phase. I am just going to put them on a shelf for now. Some of them have almonds and coconut - which isn't supposed to be eaten during Induction.

What caused me to leave low carb is I felt like maybe it wasn't actually low carb that was making me loose weight. I know all the science behind it, but I really was eating smaller portions and better food (pretty much all bad food is out and you can't even attempt to have it). The more I have explored other diets the more different I felt. Sure, I missed sugaar and other things, but that isn't healthy on any eating plan, not just low carb. Now I know that that is just how a function. I not only need to watch what I eat, but I also have to avoid trigger foods that are allowed on other diets.

emoticon for reading my blog and for your kind words about Omar.
his stitches are out, but the eye is still iffy. He still has to wear the cone for now (but that doesn't slow him down AT ALL!) No matter what, he has a home with us. I'm already in love with him, so if his owners DO call it will be difficult to see him go.
