Winning is Not Quitting

August 2010~ It was VERY hard to weigh myself or to even get motivated this first year of my "stealth visiting" Spark People. It was painful to admit to all my past failures of yo-yo dieting and being up 30 + pounds....again.

October 2011~ Fortunately, something finally clicked for me and I joined in some of the activities and challenges SP offered to help me make weight loss a reality.

January 2014~I lost some ground over the winter. : (

March 2014~Back to pre-holiday weight. I know that I will always be a work in progress but I am close and 2014 is my year to make and maintain goal!

No more diets for me. Instead I try to do my best everyday to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. No More beating myself up and NO more quitting.

I have a fantastic, long time SP accountability buddy who gave me one of my favorite sayings: It's time to"STOP THE MADNESS!"

"Making changes in your life is never an easy task.
The key, however, is not to get caught up in the distance you have to go to get to where you want to be.
Nor should you despair over the amount of control you have over your circumstances.
Progress is made in the small, intentional steps, and chances are, you have more power than you think.
By focusing on little steps you can take every day, the progress you make will motivate you to continue your journey, and eventually,
you can go wherever you want to go. The important thing is simply to begin."
-Stephen Cherniske

"No one is perfect... absolutely no one.
Like precious stones, we have a few flaws, but why focus on that?
Focus on what you like about yourself, and that will bring you happiness and peace."
-Richard Simmons

Hi Maria! Thanks for stopping by my page. My hubby gets a little freaked out whenever I mention cutting my hair and going gray. So I'm going to wait a little longer before I cut my hair, but it WILL happen. Long hair is a lot of work, for one thing! And I'm just tired of the hassle of coloring it. Most of the time I wear it tied up in a bandana, anyway. Otherwise it gets in my way when working out, cleaning house and cooking. I just hope that when I get my hair cut and let it go to gray that I can look half as stunning as you.

Thank you for the compliment that I am like a Proverbs 31 woman. That is an honor. You made my day with that, and for saying I have a gift for writing.

Enjoy your day and make it healthy!
Hugs,
Pixie

"Did your mom ever tell you, ‘If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything’?
She was right–and talking nicely also applies when you’re talking to yourself, even inside your head.”

Thanks for stopping by my page with all the complimentary words, I appreciate that! As for the march of time, I could deal with it better if I looked as vibrant and healthy as you. Maybe I need to cut my hair off and let the gray shine through! I have been thinking about it lately!
Hugs,
Pixie

“Starting today, instead of saying "I have to" when discussing your actions or goals, substitute the words "I choose to."...
"I have to lose weight" becomes "I choose to lose weight." Saying "I choose to" puts you in charge and affirms that you want to see results.”
-Linda Spangle
