Winning is Not Quitting

August 2010~ It was VERY hard to weigh myself or to even get motivated this first year of my "stealth visiting" Spark People. It was painful to admit to all my past failures of yo-yo dieting and being up 30 + pounds....again.

October 2011~ Fortunately, something finally clicked for me and I joined in some of the activities and challenges SP offered to help me make weight loss a reality.

January 2014~I lost some ground over the winter. : (
March 2014~Back to ...

March 2014~Back to pre-holiday weight. I know that I will always be a work in progress but I am close and 2014 is my year to make and maintain goal!

No more diets for me. Instead I try to do my best everyday to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. No More beating myself up and NO more quitting.

I have a fantastic, long time SP accountability buddy who gave me one of my favorite sayings: It's time to"STOP THE MADNESS!"

emoticon This week we deserve happy dancing! Do you have Pharell Williams' song HAPPY in your head?! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon OK...we are HAPPY DANCING for our first week of the Spring Challenge. emoticon

I made my Spring Challenge blog in to a spreadsheet and I just printed it to use for week 2. This marking it off on paper worked for week one.

I tried a new recipe- cream cheese Danish to use when the kids come to visit. If you follow it, each Danish is over 400 calories! I cut it in half. My husband loved them! There were 8.... I had one and he has had two so far. My dinner was spinach salad with tuna, celery, and tomatoes. I am keeping within calorie range. Amazing! I have thoughts how to reduce the calories more on this recipe. So fun!

Hello and just a note to say the doing something to help your health is a success. I hope that this Spring challenge will motivates you to meet your goal. I like the weekly challenge it helps to focus on one healthy habit.

Out of six days this first challenge week, I have have 4 great days and two shaky days. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Tomorrow will be a great day! emoticon My shaky days included a neighbor fish fry party and a mahjongg play day at my home. I have carted bad sugar and carb leftovers off to my neighbor. Hugs, Laurel
