Ready to be FIT & HEALTHY

It has now been over 7 years since I started living healthy and I'm never going back! I have struggled my entire life with weight issues. It started early and just got progressively worse over the years. I lost the weight on several occasions only to eventually gain it all back and more. I call it the "Oprah Syndrome" so I guess I'm in good company! Anyway, here I am all these years later. I am determined however to keep this issue under control for once and for all.

I started Weight Watchers in November 2007 and have been faithfully weighing in regularly. I told myself I would attend for at least two years no matter what..., gain or lose. The weight loss was ssssssslow averaging only 3 or so pounds a month but it eventually added up to 80+ pounds off. Along the way I found Spark People and I am so happy I did. It has taken my fitness in particular to a whole new level and provides a dose of daily motivation that I need. I'm exercising more and paying much more attention to my nutrition. The articles are so positive and the community is fabulous. I feel like I finally have tools in hand to be successful for the long term.

My Goals:
Started Weight Watchers in Nov 2007. It's all about the accountability for me. Reached initial BMI goal in June 2009 and now a lifetime member. Still would like to lose a few more pounds... Will get there eventually!

My Program:
Weight Watchers Program. On this plan nothing is really off limits. I try to avoid foods that are "triggers" and a problem for me. Everyone has certain foods that they just can't handle sensibly. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE as they will make you feel like a failure when you lose control.

Work-out Regime

At the gym for 45-60 minutes 5 days a week taking indoor cycling, cardio kickboxing and strength training classes. I use the FitBit to track my everyday movements and working in food service makes a big impact. Also try to run 5k+ three times a week and love to participate in running events. I have done one marathon, several half marathons and have more on the schedule.



Personal Information:
My name is Rhonda. Very blessed to live on the beautiful Oregon Coast. We have a 2nd home in AZ and love to spend time there with family and friends.



Other Information:
Enjoy running, golf, reading, biking, hiking, traveling and spending time with family. In 2011 I did my first Sprint level Triathlon, in 2012 my first half marathon, and completed by first full marathon in 2013. I am blessed to have a great supportive husband of more than 25+ years ~ a beautiful daughter and son-in-law ~ and an adorable granddaughter who is growing up much too fast!.... oh, and I can't forget Scamp. She is just a great cat.

Good times on the cruise! I've always wanted to take an Alaska cruise...one day maybe. I'm glad that you got the chance to enjoy! You'll lose those 3 pounds in no time!

I'm doing a raw diet right now and I've lost about 6 pounds in a short amount of time...BUT...I'm not sure I can sustain it long term...I really like some of my foods hot. With the raw diet you can't have anything over 106 degrees. Oh well...I'll just have to look for a way to modify it some so that I can live with it.

I'm happy to be off for a few days for the 4th of July. It's SO dead at the consignment gallery I'm about to go bonkers.

I plan to do some deep cleaning around the house tomorrow and I'll tackle my closet..which is a NIGHTMARE and just start pitching!

Good job...reupholstery is NO joke! I'm proud of you my friend! I have some cushions on our patio chairs that need reupholstered...but I might just chalk paint them instead...easier way out for me...heh..heh! The only problem with that is they become kind of scratchy...it's always somethin~that balls up the works isn't it? emoticon
