I have been overweight ALL of my life. Although, I am overweight, I have also exercised all of my life and am fit and feel good. As I age (47), I'm feeling that I really need to focus on getting healthy. I want to be around to see my daughter grow up and I want to be able to activities with her and my husband. Food and eating is a big part of the weight loss equation and this is where I have the most difficulty. I have been doing Sparkpeople now for about 9 months off and on and have found that their processes and systems for recording food is the key to my success! I am so looking forward to really starting on the road to health and fitness.....eventhough I feel as though I have been on that road all my life. I am about to see success...I can feel it:)

My Goals:
Today 8/23 is nearly one year since I have gotten super serious with this weight loss thing . I say serious, because I have tried all my life to lose weight all without a plan. And all without success. For the past year I have been active on Sparkepeople tracking and interacting. I and also increased my exercise amount and intensity.

So after a year, while I have not gotten to my original weight loss goal of losing 100 pounds, I have made a lot of progress. I have lost 25 pounds, I have lost several clothes sizes, I feel great. I have gotten so strong from weight lifting and my blood work has improved. I have gained so much knowledge about healthy foods, weight loss strategies, exercise techniques and more from Sparkpeople. The list could go on and on!

So today I have re-evaluated my weight loss goals and am ready to begin losing weight again.

HERE THEY ARE...

Today my weight was 280 pounds. By the end of November, I will have lost 30 pounds

My Program:
I work out at least 6 day a week.

Monday - one intense hour with a personal trainer doing intervals with weights and cardio.

Tuesday -- Strength class at gym for 45 minutes and at least 30 minutes of cardio before/after.

Wednesday -- 1hour of Strike class

Thursday -- 1hour with a trainer doing weights and cardio

Friday -- 1hour Zumba class

Saturday / Sunday -- one day will be off and I will work out the other day.

One step.
One minute.
One mile.
One workout.
One choice.
One bite.
One meal.
One hour.
One day.
One week.
One pound.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog!! I'm off Braddock and the beltway in Fairfax. But have been wanting to do the W&OD trail or something - flatter would be nice. If you're up for a bike ride at the weekend, let me know and maybe we can meet in Herndon near the old train station for a ride. I think that's a good in between point depending on how far out in Loudoun you are.

Carb cycling (the short version) is alternating between high carb days and low carb days days a week, then sunday is free day. I'm using the plan outlined in the book 'Choose to lose: The 7 Day Carb Cycle Solution' by Chris Powell. It's really working for me so far...and no more nighttime cravings!!
