Hey Goodlookin!

So after a year with Sparkpeople I decided to update my page to better reflect my life now. I just turned 44 and have lost 45 pounds to date (42 with Sparkpeople). It has been a slow loss but I have seen toning and inches lost which make me happy and motivated. Some weeks the scale doesn't move at all but if I feel that if I had a good week then that is what matters. I am buying smaller clothes and giving away the ones that I never intend to wear again. So after a year with Sparkpeople I decided to update my page to better reflect my life now. I just turned 44 and have lost 45 pounds to date (42 with Sparkpeople). It has been a slow loss but I have seen toning and inches lost which make me happy and motivated. Some weeks the scale doesn't move at all but if I feel that if I had a good week then that is what matters. I am buying smaller clothes and giving away the ones that I never intend to wear again. I have diabetes but have managed to be able to stop taking all insulin and now am just taking pills. I made it to onederland just before Christmas and hope to reach my goal weight in 2013. I am married and have a son who is 20 and a daughter who is 12. I gained 80 pounds with my first pregnancy and never really lost it. After 20 years I decided it was time.

I am eating healthier than I have in over 20 years and have added exercise to my routine and find that I almost crave it some days. I began by walking with DVDs and now find that those don't raise my heart rate as much and so have turned to strength and cardio training combined and am looking at investing in a treadmill to up the burn.

I love to cook and experiment with new recipes. I have managed to tweak some of my old, calorie and fat laden recipes to make them healthier. I am incorporating vegies into many more meals and constantly watching my calories. I treat myself occasionally but eat so much healthier than I was a year ago. As a result my whole family is eating better.

I am looking forward to another year with Sparkpeople and finally being the healthier me that I have wanted for so long.

I haven't been on here too much lately other than to track my food. Im doing better. I have 4-5 accountability buddies I talk to on a daily basis that is helping me a lot!! Haven't lost any weight yet since I restarted, but Ill get there :) Hope things are well w you!!
