Change is good, you first.

Just another CK refugee. I started off wanting to lose weight so I could be a better referee. At one point I did and was a better soccer referee. After a rough period I gained all the weight back. It affected my games to a point I was told to get a personal trainer.. (ouch!)
Well I half heartily followed that advice and took up an 8 weeks to 5K. You see I never liked running for just running. Something during this 8 weeks to 5K flipped a switch in me and now I can't wait for my ...

The difference is before I wanted to get in shape so I can satisfy the referee community when it came to assessments (I'm emeritus now). This time I am just doing it for me and I can only disappoint me.

I found you on the Garmin page and thought you had a friendly face so I picked you to ask this. I got a Garmin (not sure which one as I am writing this at work) the Christmas before last. I am the kind of person who resists reading instructions because they are so overwhelming. So far all I have ever done with it is monitor my heart rate which seems like a waste of such a complex tool.

Is there a way you could briefly tell me a very few things I need to know to get started. I will be one of those beginning runners who is starting from the sofa. :) emoticon
