Picture: Buds is going to help me get ready for the 5K walk at the beach on April 8th. Proceeds go to Autism Society of Oregon.

In no particular order activities that help me avoid gaining weight during stressful events.
1) Support from friends and family.
2) Logging on to Spark People daily.
3) Faith that every day I am succeeding in increments.
4) Eating a hearty salad with protein
5) Freezing 1/4 cup of juice in bottom of water bottle then adding water over the frozen juice. Yummm....I drink more water that way.
6) Walking Buddy The Dog every evening.
7) Visualizing cravings as little beasts. Telling them "no" they may not have sugar. That way I do not feel deprived.
8) Decluttering house. It's uplifting and fights cravings.
9) Gardening
10) Enjoying the sunshine.
11) Hearty vegetable and bean soup in a rainbow of colors.
12) Eliminating most wheat products from diet.
13) Juicing greens and mixing them in an organic protein slushy. Healthy sub for sugar and wheat snacks.
14) Yoga at the gym and in two minute increments around the house.

emoticon Have a great day and keep up the good work!!

Sometimes we think we've failed because life didn't go as planned. We put too much emphasis on what might have been instead of what we've achieved to get this far. And just as setbacks can be catalysts for learning; victories can be catalysts to keep us moving forward. Celebrate each victory because in the whole sense of the word, a-Victory-is-a-Victory and an integral part of our journey that needs acknowledgement no matter how small. It's part of what we're made of, and we are made to be Victorious!

I just bought a clean living magazine with food ideas... with the hope that I am inspired to eat clean for the rest of the day. I did buy a big salad at the store for dinner. I'm glad you feel cleaner and leaner. I read your spark page and it rekindled all the thoughts of what works for me too. My food dragon is my monster.... and it has been a while since I have looked him in the eye. I hope you are doing well my friend. Justyna emoticon

Thanks for responding to my comment on the I Believe thread. What a great thread!

I am learning that pacing is important. Like so many others, I want to do as much as I can when I feel well and have the motivation. Because even then, there is so much left undone. But then I pay for it and get stuck staying home from work. Not that I mind being at home... I'm a homebody and love to stay home, but staying home doesn't pay the bills! emoticon

I'm looking forward to getting to know you a little better through the group. It seems like an encouraging bunch of folks.
