Just keep trying! Every day is a new opportunity.
In no particular order the "Top 12 Things" that have helped me avoid gaining weight during stressful events. 1) Support from friends and family. 2) Logging on to Spark People daily. 3) Faith. 4) Eating a hearty salad with protien 5) Freezing 1/4 cup of juice in bottom of water bottle then adding water over the frozen juice. Yumm....I drink more water that way. 6) Walking the dogs every evening. 7) Visualizing cravings as little beasts ...

That way I do not feel deprived. 8) Decluttering house. It's uplifting and fights cravings. 9) Gardening 10) Enjoying the sunshine. 11) Hearty vegetable and bean soup in a rainbow of colors. 12) Eliminating most wheat products from diet.
