Hello friends! It is amazing for me to read my intro text here from 2010. My 2012 goal of 1/2 marathon, 1/2 Dome and 1/2 Century was realized with great joy! Unfortunately I now have an achillies heel injury and my fitness activity has been adjusted. I have come back to SPARK People to work on balancing my fitness and dietary goals so that I can continue living a healthy, balanced life. I look forward to making new friends and being inspired and encouraged by the many people here who share the same goals. Please leave a note for me; I would love to get to know you!



2010 Intro Text:

My first four months with Sparkpeople have been so rewarding! I have learned to eat in the healthiest way possible to keep my body fueled and not overstuffed using the nutrition tracker. I have met many new challenges physically and found consistency with the fitness tracker. I have made new friends with Spark groups and visited other people's Spark pages to be inspired and encouraged. I have used the creative outlet of blogging and created a Sparkpeople page of my own to share about my journey and express who I am. In these four months I said yes to regular long nine mile hikes with a friend, challenged myself to new physical heights both at the gym and on my own, been river rafting, rapids swimming and canyoneering. I have celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary, husband's parent's 50th wedding anniversary and welcomed into our family a beautiful future-daughter-in-"love" and I have turned 48 years old. Yesterday marked my four month anniversary here on sparkpeople; today marks the day that I have lost 20 pounds. I have two more pounds to go to reach my final goal! I saw the doctor this week and he "unclicked" heart disease from my medical record. life is good! I am so GRATEFUL to have found this community and I wish any who happen upon these comments all the best in finding their health and well being. If I can encourage you in any way, please drop me a line. I would love to befriend you along with the many others who make Sparkpeople so unique. I met what I thought was an unattainable goal today. Seven years after being diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome I have a perfect blood lipid panel! No more high cholestrol! Metabolic Syndrome is reversed!

My Program:
Nutrition Goals: Stick to a low carb diet, currently South Beach Phase 1.5 and use the food tracker and SP recipes.

Fitness goals: Stay active despite my recent achillies injury. Walking twice a week with my walking buddy 8-13 miles total, run or do elliptical three days. The elliptical will help ease the stress on the heel hopefully.
