13.1 MILES... I DID IT!

Been overweight, then skinny, then slowly crept back into obesity... and then ran as fast as I could toward the me I wanted to be. I set things right again for my own self-esteem, gave my wife back the man she married, and have so much more energy for my kids. Turned a new page by running a half marathon in May 2014, and am now resting up my worn knees while I plan for what's next!

My Weight Journey:

My Weight Journey:

Update (July 14, 2014): I've run a 10k, a half marathon, and have managed to maintain just below my goal weight for the past six months. The future looks bright. :D

Update (Jan. 14, 2014): Seven months... 80 pounds gone forever. Hello goal weight, nice to meet you...

Update (Oct. 21, 2013): In 20 weeks, I've lost 66 pounds, and weigh in now at 199 for the first time in over seven years. Closing in on my goal weight feels quite surreal sometimes.

Update (Sept. 11, 2013): After 14 weeks, I'm down to 210 pounds! Ten more pounds and I get to go buy a new wardrobe!!! :-D

Update: After 10 weeks of consistency and pushing hard, I've gone from 265 to 225 pounds. I never expected this, and I'm beside myself and grateful for the results. 35 pounds to go!

I copied your blog and posted it on another health site that I am on. It was very well received. You have a gift of writing and offer insightful perspectives. Yes, life on the platueau or in the van is different with its own challenges..but it is very good ro remember and to appreicate how far we have come and waht a good healthy body we have.

Tina-Jane is fabulous, as are you! She kept telling me to join the team, but I just felt so silly, as I am still quite a ways away from goal... but I finally took her advice, I haven't dared post LOL, but I've been checking out the resources. That big page of links is amazing, and I've been reading here and there. I just feel like it's so great to hear stories and learn things from the people that have been where I want to go. :)

Did you?! It's gorgeous. Only place aside from Hawaii that I didn't wish I was in San Diego the entire time. I was also there in the summer though, so..... I certainly could not do snow.

So tell me/us about your camping trip!!!!!!!

Actually, I wrote that blog not as a hearmwarming story (but I guess you are right, it did turn out that way! becuase I was truly scared shi*R*tless when it happened!) But more to show that every couple has got issues... and it's how you deal with them that can make a good couple, a GREAT couple!

I know what you mean about having a garage full of STUFF, not junk! (My stuff is not junk, LOL... well, that is debatable!)
I know I would have that too, if I had a garage! Instead, I have a room that I keep a lot of my stuff in and that room is kinda scary to me! LOL
.... The sad part is I bet if the room went up in flames or was washed away, I wouldn't miss a thing!
emoticon

Why do we keeep so much stuff that probably we wouldn't miss if it was gone?
