Transformation in progress

My highest weight in 2006 was 226 lbs and I went up and down over the next four years as I struggled to lose. By 2010, I was already down 40 lbs but was having trouble making more progress. That year, a co-worker told me about SparkPeople. I was skeptical at first, but tracking my nutrition and fitness on SP while completing P90X and Insanity back to back helped me shed another 26 lbs and go from a 36" waist almost down to 30".

After my mom passed away in 2011, I had trouble maintaining my motivation and slowly regained the last 26 lbs I had lost. Having undone all that hard work, I wasn't sure it was possible to do it all over again. Then in March 2013, I subscribed to SparkCoach and it gave me the motivation I needed to get back on track. A second round of P90X and Insanity, plus disciplined nutrition tracking using SP's tools got me back to where I wanted to be by September 2013. Though I've had my ups and downs over the years, the one thing that has remained consistent is that I haven't given up on my goals. I want to reach a healthy weight and fitness level and stay there so that I will have more energy, more confidence, and enjoy life.

And now I have a new goal to dedicate more time to supporting and motivating others, so I have enrolled as an Independent Beachbody Coach:

www.beachbodycoach.com/GREGINPROGRESS

If you're interested in getting exercise programs like the ones I'm using, I hope you'll use my page to check them out and contact me if you'd like me to be your online coach or if you're interested in becoming a coach yourself. But selling products isn't my focus. I know from experience losing weight is hard without a buddy by your side cheering you on, or maybe even going through the struggles together with you, and I want to try to be that buddy to people. I'm normally a very private person as you can probably tell by the lack of face shots in my photo gallery, but I see this coach opportunity as another step toward personal growth and hope I can help assist others to reach their goals.

Loved your comment on my blog!

I am glad people are commenting on the video ones, because the ding dang things aren't coming up on my screen. It's just a big grey box.

I am fortunate that my husband has some experience with this, since we do an annual zombie apocalypse movie each summer when my step son comes out (he develops the story line and is the director). My husband has learned SO MUCH from editing those movies (the last one was an hour and 20 minutes long) that it has benefited me. I think he's doing a great job with a camera that is really made more for pictures (Nikon D3100) and limited editing software.

And I knew as soon as I said "this sucks" he was going to make it a blooper. emoticon

Thanks, once again, for a very thoughtful comment on my blog.

I think it's always going to be a matter of adjusting and respecting our own limitations and personalities. Something that a lot of people, particularly those in the fitness industry (I know- I are one), have a hard time accepting.
