I set a goal to lose a good amount for my daughter's wedding on Maui, and I got down to 131.

March 2014, at 145lbs. Trying on dresses for my daughter's wedding.

My goal right now is to be healthy and active so that over the next 20 years I can keep up with and enjoy my two granddaughters, now two, and two weeks. They are the light and joy of my life. In 2007 I joined Sparkpeople on a lark, thinking, surely this won't work. But I surprised myself and lost 25lbs, and looked and felt fantastic. After having a minor surgery and moving from an all day on my feet job to a desk job, the weight crept back on. My daughter got married in July this year, and I managed to get down to 131lbs! It came off SO slowly, only 1lb a week, but it came off. After the wedding, over the next year, I gained back 25lbs. Now I want to get down to 128lbs and STAY there. My new goal is not just to get to 128, but to also get fit and keep exercising. I'm in menopause, and honestly it was hard to adjust to the changes that came on so quickly in just about a year. Loss of muscle tone, more weight around the middle, looser skin, hair thinning. For the first time in my life I have to fill in my eyebrows! I've finally adjusted, and am going to love this body and care for it the best I can. The extra weight I've put on has driven up my blood pressure. It's also emphasized my pain associated with my fallen arches, causing pain in my knee and now hip. So much pain that it limits my exercise. I became sedentary after my shoulder surgery is Sept. 2016, and my body has become so weak I don't know my abilities any more. Everything seems to hurt. I'm going to physical therapy to try to help with some of the pain, and I know losing this weight is going to make all the difference. Exercise is also going to make all the difference. Here's to my journey back to a healthy, strong body!

My Goals:
Lose to 128!

Do exercises at home 20 minutes per day minimum.

Cut out dairy and grains, increase veggies even more, increase protein and egg intake.

Start journaling - get back to my "roots", the best of who I used to be, but got away from.

Nourish my spiritual self.

My Program:
10 minutes of exercise each morning before showering (we will see if that works).

10 minutes of exercises every evening.

Ride my bike every evening the weather will allow.

Personal Information:
I am 51 years old, and just started full menopause in February of 2014.

I have 4 kids and a great guy for a husband. Last kid is still at home, is 18 now.
Second grandbaby on the way, first one lives too far away to see. :(

Other Information:
I am enjoying food WAY too much! It's suddenly SO hard to not have more than I should of that delicious... whatever.
The food tracker helps me a lot. If I just stick with it!
