Hi, I love the idea of sharing this site to help each other out with advice or a kind word. It works for me! I have been gaining weight slowly over the past 20 years, and just found out I am diabetic. I have high BP and Chol. too. So I am trying to turn it around and get my good health and energy back. I have three beautiful Grandchildren who need me around for a long time yet, and three of the best daughters a Mom could ask for, and a wonderful husband. Lots of live for. Thank God I realized it in time. I pray for the strength to change my life, big time!

My Goals:
My goals are to eat better and exercise, in order to lose weight and be able to lower my blood sugar, so I won't have to go on meds., lower my BP and Cholesterol.

My Program:
I am changing my eating patterns, taking out some sugars and fats and adding whole grain products and low fat items. Also slowly adding exercise. This is a hard one for me, as I don't like to exercise.

Personal Information:
My name is Sue, and I have been married to my husband Jeff for 40 years. We have three lovely daughters, two Granddaughters and a Grandson. We live in Michigan.

Other Information:
I love reading, and Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. I love mysteries. We grow a big garden each year and eat lots of healthy veggies, which my husband and I both love. But we love sweets too, which is not good, so we are trying to stay away from those.

Thank you Jibbie49. I have been following the diabetes solution for over a month on Phase I, but felt a need to add more carbs lately. I hope I don't stop losing weight. Still having my BS readings go over 100 about 1/2 the week though. So hard to figure out what to eat.

I follow Richard Bernstein M.D. who wrote "The Diabetes Solution" and he has a diet book as well. (I got the book at the library. He has been on a low carb diet for the past 45 years. He has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 12 and he is a healthy 80 now. He has 18 new lectures on YouTube, so do listen to them. He sees 95% of his patients with Type 2 diabetes. His book had a lot of low carb recipes.

Oh well, just forget about the butter on the popcorn, and start a new day. We've all been there, and done that, but we can't dwell on it.
