My name is Jeanne. I am a 50 years old and from Massachusetts.
I lost 50 lbs and then I regained 60. I hated myself for a long time.
I just could not find the energy to try again.. I was too tired. Then I had a sleep study. I got a CPAP machine and something weird happened... I wasn't tired. I wasn't craving sweets all the time.
My respiratory therapist told me that there is a direct correlation between obesity and sleep apnea. That the body craves sugar for the energy, crashes and repeat.
I do not want diabetes. My brother has it. I do not want to be diagnosed. I watched a couple of mind changing Netflix documentaries. FED UP and SUGAR COATED. I was ready for a change.
5 months have passed and I have lost 40lbs. I still have 60 to go but I am ok with that. It is a journey.
Lessons learned:
1. Do not call yourself a name you would not want to hear a loved one call themself.
2. Tracking is necessary paperwork to succeed!

    Thanks for your comment on my blog. I don't eat meat, so it's a bit harder for me to find the necessary protein, but I will look into recipes more as you suggested.

    Thanks! I'm going to give your cucumber trick a try. I don't use Crystal Light for the same reason...trying to stay away from artificial sweeteners as much as possible. Although I love lemon anything, I want to spare my tooth enamel, as well.

    Yeah, I definitely hid from the pics as well, but, for the first time yesterday, I was actually glad my mom snapped (and posted for the public to see grr) unflattering shots of me when I least would want her to.
    Now I KNOW I'm making progress.
    I was told by friends who'd lost weight to take nice pics at the beginning so there'd be flattering enough 'before' photos. But, I guess I'll just take what I can get.

    AND, now I'm making sure I take a lot more photos with my kids, because I was in NONE of these pics because I'm always behind the camera.
