I am beautiful, confident, and I know I WILL NEVER give up!!! I will never say "I'll just start again tomorrow" "I'll just finish out the week and start over Monday" No, it's about making the healthy choice everyday. Making the next best decision! - MOMNAMEMANTOOTH

It is time. It is past time. The time is NOW.... I am going to do this every day, every single day even if I fail during part of the day I will stop, drink some water and keep going. I am going to reach my goals of being healthy and fit. I will because I am worth the work, the determination, the challenges to make my life a better, happier and healthier one. I will love myself and take care of ME.

"I don’t want to stare at the ceiling in a hospital room one day thinking, “I wish I would have taken better care of myself and not allowed this to happen.” Jason Anderson

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation.
Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
-John C. Maxwell

I will incoperate food changes and exercises that I can readily do forever. I will do this by drastically cutting down or maybe eventually eliminating sugar other than from fresh foods. I also would like to eliminate wheat as it is known today nothing like what our grandparents ate.
I want to keep my physio exercises as a routine that becomes habit, and also get more strength training in.

A happy, healthy relationship with food and exercise is what I am aiming for.

A year from now you'll wish you had started today.

"It takes effort and belief to persevere and stay dedicated to accomplish your goal. When you find yourself doubting whether the effort is worth it, visualize how you will feel and what you will have once your goal is completed."

ONE thing I did NOT do was…. MAKE EXCUSES.This is a journey of choice, nobody can or will do it for you. " CRISSA1669

Feeling healthy and good about yourself is not an option, it is a necessity.

Part of the reason I wanted to do a 5K is to show you that YOU can do anything you set your mind to do. If a woman with herniated, degenerated disks, pinched nerves, bad knees, fibromyalgia, and arthritis can walk a 5K with a walker, YOU can take courage that you are capable of aiming for better every day. 2014 My word is BALANCE.... body, mind and spirit. I will take care and love myself in all aspects. I will work to make all 3 in balance and work towards a happier, healthier me.

This day is what you have to work with, no matter how much you could do yesterday, how much you may or may not be able to do tomorrow. That entails physical, emotional and of course our food!!

What can I do today that will make my tomorrow better? So knowing that I am trying to make each tomorrow better, today will incorporate moving, eating and thinking healthy with proper doses of both!

I want to lose this wt. to get healthier, to do all I can to not get cancer, to help my ruined knees and back last longer, to look and feel better about myself and to be able to pick up my grandkids and play with them.

When I just don't think I can I will re read Matts blog....

I can't believe that a new spark friend told me she is going to start her day with my page! OMG wow. I can't believe it and goes to show you that you never know what may help someone else.
I am honoured and also said that I have had a specific friend really say something to me that has stuck. Had to go back and remind myself countless times but still it is in my head.....What can I do today to make my tomorrow a better day!!!?? thanks BEMORESTUBBORN!

Got an idea and a thought and forgive me it you're doing it already but it's something I noticed with my friend Jackie.
She was fast eater and didn't have water with her meal. Since drinking a glass of water before she eats (about 15 minutes) and having water with her food and really making herself eat more slowly she's lost weight and feels fuller quicker.
I have to say though that she really BOLTED her food down to the point her plate was clean before mine or Pete's was a third empty.
Being on the go so much she needed to get a meal over and done with so she could get out of the house- it had become essential- she never enjoyed her food coz she never really tasted any of it. Gulp and gone.

Have you tried reaching for water before you're tempted to cookies- so often we're thirsty and not hungry.

Hope I have not offended you by these suggestions, just trying to help emoticon

and stop buying stuff you're tempted by! Or get smaller amounts emoticon

I wrote a longer reply to your blog entry but decided to post it on my own blog instead. I just wanted to say I can relate to your thoughts and feelings. But that being overweight / obese really is an epidemic now so it's not so that you and I are the only ones who are at a loss with regard to what to do.

My dad is similar. Must be a male thing. Dad has a way of embarrassing me half to death. He once told our waitress at Applebees that she would never be able to get a job at Hooters. I almost died and he and I had words. Benny and Ian were embarrassed and disgusted but Dad didn't think he had done anything wrong and was angry that I apologized to the waitress. She said she didn't really care as long as he gave her a tip.

I would not take your dad home until he is better. I would relate to the doctor that your dad is not acting right and he isn't. You certainly can't be pulling and tugging on him in your condition! Don't you dare do it!!!!

The "cancer diet" is being used here in Ottawa at the cancer unit in conjunction to other modalities. It is "ketonic" with the theory that cancer cells are different from regular cells. They can use carbs but if they can get no carbs then they starve. Regular cells can start using ketones. I don't totally understand the theory but basically limiting to 25 carbs a DAY. A calorie limit of 1500 with most of those calories coming from fats. Meats, meat fats, butter, cream, sour cream, vegetables (no starchy or sweet ones), broth, only lemons and oranges for fruits, coconut, the really fatty nuts like macadamia and brazil nuts and butters. Is it healthy? Probably not, but it is beting treated as medicine and they are dealing with the "side effects" of an unhealthy diet using supplements. My friend has to test her blood sugars and ketones several times a day.
