Starting again

Sometimes when you want things to change. You have to change them. I'm so mad at myself for letting myself slip. I was really doing well and I let it all fall apart. I'm the only one who can change the things in my life that I'm not happy with. I've got to take the lead in my own dance.

I noticed your post about microwave chip makers, and thought I'd respond here (since I am not a member of the bento team...yet :) ).
I have one of those chip makers, but since I got it second hand, it had no instructions. :-/ I have experimented with it, but apparently wasn't cooking the chips long enough, since they never got crunchy.
Currently, I am pretty much anti-plastic (at least, when it comes to heating food in it), so I haven't tried using the device in quite a while.

To curb my chip cravings, I try to keep bags of oven-fries in my freezer (some brands don't have much fat, and some are made with canola oil). That way, if I have a craving, I measure out a portion, microwave it for 5-6 minutes (depending on thickness of the fries). The crispy edges plus the potato factor seem to quell the cravings. Also, I am not willing to wait for another batch to cook, so it keeps my servings at one. ;)
Best of luck to you and your hubby! emoticon
