Looking forward to the start of BLC 29. It wasn't a great summer. Drought, then fires, put a major roadblock in the way of both field work and recreation. I managed to maintain my weight through BLC 28 (no loss of any significance), but I am not happy about going into the more sedentary fall and winter months without the headstart of summer weight loss. So time to double down and be serious.

My Goals:
I want to get to 140 pounds. That is a really lean and healthy weight for me without being thin.


My Program:
Right now, just running and gardening. I think I need to add biking when the challenge starts.



Personal Information:
Research scientist from the Rocky Mountains. Irreverent, cynical, left-liberal, secular humanist. My idea of a great day is lying in my tent during a summer thunderstorm reading on my Kindle beside the high mountain lake where I will catch dinner when the storm stops. Add a big plus to that day if, when I arrived at that lake after a long hot hike, I was all alone, and felt free to peel off all my clothes and dive in.


Other Information:
My favorite books this year (so far) are All the Light We Cannot See and Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series. I've en hooked on these for a few months. If I could do anything I wanted for a week straight, I'd fish. I did that in Patagonia this winter --for more than a week-- and never got bored, but I'd like to do it more often here at home. But for now, I'm trying to make time to fish at least once a week.
