hey erin!
Jan 4, 2010 Back to business...After taking a month or two off as my husband and I bought a house and moved in at the end of 2009 and I couldn't physically and mentally keep up with one more thing and SP fell to the wayside. So, like millions of other people this month, I'm getting myself back on track. Counting calories, logging in exercise, planning my week to be more healthy and productive. Yea 2010! I'm looking forward to what this new year may bring! I want to get to my goal ...
I want to get to my goal weight this year, I want to sign up for another triathlon, I'll be running in the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC, and some friends are planning a tentative spring/summer get-together and I'd love to look my best for it, etc, etc, etc... Aug 20, 2009 One year down! and one pant size (well, a little bit more, those old pants were pretty snug there at the beginning...) and 20 pounds. And on the other side, my energy is up, my expectations of myself are up, and self-awareness is up there too. Over the last year, I've lost 2/3 of my goal number, I've run a 10K, I've celebrated my one year wedding anniversary, I've turned 30, and I've started training for my first sprint triathlon. I've got a ways to go, but looking back over the year I feel really proud of myself. I hit some snags along the way, but I've done it! I've started moving in the right direction and that's what's important. The two steps forward, one step back routine still nets me a step in the right direction and all those changes add up. I'm ready to see what all I can accomplish at the big 3-0! Aug. 16, 2008 I want to be happy with my body by my 30th birthday! I've been wasting time on doing nothing and hoping to get results or on ineffective "dieting" and I'm excited to put a realistic plan into action. so far so good. I'm so inspired by the incredible achievements of the other SP members - it makes me realize that the true science of weight loss - less calories in, more calories expended - is all I really need to focus on, not any crazy schemes or programs... it's so much more simple. I love the feeling I have after I work out - strong and powerful - but I'm easily discouraged in terms of getting to the gym. When I feel bad, I just want to curl up and be comfy, not go get all sweaty and gross. With crazy drama occuring in my family (for the first time ever...we're typically a boring bunch), I need to keep my emotional issues concerning them seperate from my goals for myself. I think working out will give me the boost I need to feel better physically and mentally... helping me through this time. I also want to be a GREAT wife, and feeling confident about myself is an important part of that! I'm looking forward to the new me! Monthly Updates/Goals: -OCTOBER -on a roll -NOVEMBER Thanksgiving... -DECEMBER and Christmas... were not good to me Plateau -JANUARY... starting again -FEBRUARY looking at my food intake and focusing on staying within calorie range -MARCH training for 10K and 2 lb min. goal this month -APRIL goal: in the 150s (yes!) -MAY one year wedding anniversary / Bridesmaid in Wedding #1 2009 -JUNE (BDay Month) reach my weight goal for my birthday...145 OK, so that's not going to happen. 155 is my new b-day goal, but I WILL reach 145 this summer!! 6.2.09 - 155.8!!! yippie!! next stop - 150! -JULY Hilton Head vacation=yummy food & laying on the beach instead of running on it. 158 Starting training for Sprint Triathlon in September... hopefully this will mix things up a bit. -AUGUST Labor Day Weekend/Jen's Bachelorette Party/One Year Spark-versary: goal of 30 pound loss...gonna be tricky, 25 may be more on target...or how about 20. I had a bit of a downturn for the months of June & July and got stuck between 156 and 158 in a continual cycle. I think I'm back on track and I'm proud of my 20 pound loss. Looking back over the last year has actually been really encouraging - just because I didn't reach my 30# goal, I still have accomplished so much and I'm much more excited about those changes than distraught about a number. Year Two: -SEPTEMBER Russ's B-day/Brad's Wedding (#2) in Cleveland! Sprint Triathalon! (First Tri - finished in 2 hours 2 min. and took the rest of Sat, Sun, and Mon to recover... but I did it!!!) - weight wise, sort of a sad start to this second year. Tri training going really well, but with all our travelling, etc., I'm out of the 20# loss range and back to hovering around 156/157 again. I've got two more weeks to get myself started on the right foot. - i want to get to that 30#s !!!! (even through the holidays!) I think i'm just a little burned out and need to re-evaluate my workouts and eating this month. -OCTOBER Jen's Wedding (#3) in Cleveland. I will NOT be the fat bridesmaid Again! That size 16 dress I was recommended is going to be way too big! (*the tailor had to take more than two inches off each side of the dress... sweet!) Ted's Wedding (#4) in Charlotte... cute dress shopping ahead. -NOVEMBER Thanksgiving - signed up for the 8K Turkey Trot and ran 3 miles and walked the last 2 b/c of knee issues. It was a good time though. I'll be better equipt next year! -DECEMBER if I stay on track for the rest of the year (July-Dec), I should be able to reach my capital G Goal this month! - sigh... what wishful thinking. If I had only done something to reach that goal instead of eating and laying around with some more eating to keep up my strength :)... -JANUARY a new beginning... oh how fast can a month go by!? So I started training for the bridge run, but we've actually had a winter here in Charlotte, so not as much progress as I would like. -FEBRUARY biometric health testing this month and results were better than I thought. Still watching cholesterol and working on losing all that winter weight gain... ready to get back to 150s and beyond! -MARCH Cooper River Bridge Run (10K) -APRIL "2nd Annual Dataw Island Easter 5K" -MAY two year anniversary, Peru?? -JUNE birthday -JULY
