My Corner of the World

If God sends you down a stony path,
may he give you strong shoes.

Jesus, help my eyes to see
All the good Thou sendest me.
Jesus, help my ears to hear
Calls for help from far and near.
Jesus, help my feet to go
In the way that Thou wilt show.
Jesus, help my hands to do
All things loving, kind, and true.
Jesus, may I helpful be,
Growing every day like Thee.
Amen.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be ...

No vacation this year. I am teaching all of the time, and Ev is busy with his company - filming the new show, etc. Maybe over the holidays.

It was an old post, but now I would have to travel through the poison IVY and not sure I want to do that. How is life treating you these days. Today was a busy day for me but a happy one. I got in a lot of exercising while doing what I love to do...work with the horses.

I am on week 5 of 7 for summer session. Fall faculty meetings begin before I finish with summer. :( Thank goodness summer is extra pay - most of the other profs have off May 4 through August 4.

Hi Jeanne -
I've been slowly but surely reducing the amount of grass in my yard over the years because: 1. I live in a semi-arrid climate and 2. grass uses so much water and then you have to cut it! I prefer to plant veggies and flowers and herbs and pull weeds. If I'm going to putenergy into caring for it - I'd rather have pretty or tasty than grass.

You might want to consider putting down buffalo grass seed instead of sod. It takes about 2 years to fully establish, but it has low water requirements and is drought tolerant and once it is established you only need to cut it about 2 or 3 times per growing season and it spreads itself. I also like that it is a native prairie grass. I've had 7 cherry tomatoes that were ripe so far. Usually I get them a week or two earlier - closer to the 4th of July. Guess mine are a bit late. too. It was colder later this year. Usually i plant tomatoes on Mother's Day and this year we had snow and freezing temps that day.

Keep smiling!
