Getting healthier every day...
I have signed up for the Spark Your Body Bootcamp starting on January 3rd. I currently weigh 210 pounds and am a size 14. I have signed up for the Spark Your Body Bootcamp starting on January 3rd. I currently weigh 210 pounds and am a size 14. My goal is to complete the full 28 day program and lose at least 5 pounds this month. Here is a bit more info about me: I am 37 years old and I am finally on the path to getting healthy. For many, many years I desperately wanted to lose weight, but never for the right reasons. I used to think that weight loss would somehow magically transform me and I'd become thin, elegant, rich and super popular. Now I'm older and wiser and I have finally embraced the idea that weight loss is all about getting healthy. There is an alarmingly high rate of Type 2 Diabetes in my family and now is my chance to avoid it. I love life and I am learning to love myself wholeheartedly and give myself the health that I deserve. There is strength in numbers so feel free to stop by, say hello and add me as a friend!

My Goals:
My goals for 2010 are: ~Live each day mindfully ~Reach a healthy BMI ~Don't buy things that I don't need ~Find some happiness and satisfaction at work ~Practice yoga twice a week ~Participate in the 28 day Spark Your Body Bootcamp ~Complete the Couch to 5K training program ~Support and inspire others to reach their goals ~Make the most of my new art studio space
My Program:
I am roughly following the Sparkpeople nutrition plan, although I've had to add more calories. 1500 a day was just not enough to keep me going. I don't have a hard and fast deadline to lose weight so I'm working towards a series of mini-goals - 5 pounds at a time. My current workout plan is Spark strength training three days a week and cardio four days a week. I must admit I only get in about half of my scheduled exercise, so I have joined the Spark Your Body Bootcamp to kick start my fitness plan for 2010.
Personal Information:
I live in Canada with my wonderfully supportive husband. He is just as crazy as I am so we're great together! I love all kinds of art and creative activities: collage, drawing, painting, knitting, weaving, needle-felting. In the summer you can find me in the garden. During the rest of the year I like to hang out in the bathtub with a good book! My fitness activities include yoga, walking, biking, skating, snowshoeing, stability ball exercises, mat pilates, stair stepper, and low impact aerobics on my rebounder. I get bored easily so I'm all about variety!
