Our Home (moved in Oct '04)
Hubby is engineer of the train going by
Looking up the Mississippi River to the City of Dubuque...I live across the bridge in Illinois
We moved to this area in October of 2004. It seems to be our heaven. I can even check Hubby out when he goes by in his train. I am 53 years old and want to get off of my high blood pressure and high cholesterol medicines. Didn't have to be on this medicine till 2003 (after hysterectomy 2000, breast cancer 2001, stopped smoking 2002.) I really want to get off of those two meds...have some I never will and I don't need these if I can stay healthy! We have two boys who have grown and gone...miss them but enjoy our lives as a couple again.
Edit: Jan. '07 A year has come and gone and I have learned so much about myself, lost 47 #'s so far (slow but sure) and have also learned to love running! Who would have thought! Last year I had two of my meds. cut in half but still have to take them. I have that as one of my goals this year, to get off of as much medication as I can, lose the other 20 some #'s, enjoy life to it's fullest, along with some others. I always have goals to strive for.
Get off the meds I can,
Get to Goal Weight,
Do a 5k every month,
I will follow a good eating and excersie plan.
(plenty of fruits , veggies, not so much meat, very low fat, and walking and jogging)
I live in Illinois and my email address is: email@example.com
I am a 6 year breast cancer survivor.
Secrets of Success

Thank you for you. Somehow I was directed to your spark page.
Wow - truly inspirational and also I have been concerned about my BP recently. My father passed away at 52 in 1975 from what the doctors termed terminal high blood pressure. No meds worked for him, he was slightly overweight, over salted his food, did not exercise and was stressing about his job.
Good luck to you on your continued journey.

Thanks for your SparkMail. I can't get over your pretty page and all your pictures here...you have a beautiful home, family, and scenic spot to live in. We have a Class B motorhome, and love to travel and take pictures, too. I too am on Cholesterol and BP lowering meds, and guess what? -after losing 22 pounds since last July (I was actually 210 lbs at one time), my BP medication is reduced to half! My cholesterol is way low now, and I hope to be able to get off that med. in the furure. As for smoking...I think that is the best thing you did for your health...plus losing weight of course. My sister is a long-time smoker and although younger than me, is also overweight and has really intense BP lowering meds., and has cholesterol lowering meds. too, so she is less healthy overall. I worry about her...if only she could quit smoking.
I wish you continued success on your journey to goal weight...you GO girl!
