Hi My name is Holly and I am 48 yrs old and have been with Spark People for over 2 years. What a time it has been. I never thought I could really lose 40 lbs when I started but I was going to give it a good try. Well here we are a couple of years later and I have gone past my original goal of 36 lbs and have lost a total of 45 lbs!
And maintained my 45 lb loss for the last year.

Thanks to all the wonderful people that I have met along the way and have cheered me on to lose the weight and to provide the support. Somehow I feel like I can't let my friends down on this site which then spurs me on to go exercise if I am thinking twice about it.
Let's keep up the great work my wonderful spark friends, together we can do anything!

Current Status:
HOLLYM48 the weather has been so strange today. We have put away and gotten out the patio chairs 3 times. It is sunny then it sprinkles and then the sun comes out again. It can't decide what to do! Happy Day!

My Goals:
Goals for 2014
The get in gear run 5K in April. done!
The color run 5k in July - done!
Sign up for the Medtronic 5K in October.
Let's do it!



My goal was to lose weight, and to get in great shape. Now my new goal is to run my fourth 5K in July and then sign up for another. I can run for the first time in my life.
Spark people has helped me lose over 40 lbs.
I plan on traveling all over the world as time permits so I want to be in the best shape possible to climb stairs and ruins no matter where we go.

My Program:
Cardio at least 6 days a week for 45 mins to an hour.
I have come to love exercise and look forward to it and really do think of it as "me time".
I will add in more strength training this year and continue to train for another 5K.
Inclines on the treadmill are great workouts so I will add them in on non run days as well as the elliptical.


Personal Information:
I live in St. Paul MN.
I have been married for almost 29 years to a wonderful man that is extremely supportive no matter my size or weight. He has always loved me for me!
I have sparked him as well to watch what he eats and how much, he is not as crazy about it as I am but baby steps are great!

Other Information:
I have 2 beautiful daughters.
My oldest just graduated from college and my youngest will soon be a sophmore in college.They are both naturally thin girls and I am so glad that they inherited their fathers metabolism! They are very supportive of me and my healthy life style change and willing to try new recipes as long as they aren't too crazy. Of course, these are girls that grew up eating octopus and squid so they are pretty brave eaters!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. I have cut down to 2 meals and my calorie range is on the low end of 1200-1500 calories. I am hoping that I can cut down the rapid increase in weight until I get cleared for an exercise program.

Thanks for the luck wishes with the pump! I haven't decided if I'm going to try to go to the class or not. It would be so stressful. Ugh.

My back is actually doing okay today, I'm really surprised.

Yes, I feel like I am finally coming off the ledge and starting to wake up to life! The last year was way too stressful and took a lot out of me. Getting some balance back! Will keep sparkin' and see some success in my weight loss efforts!
