I started this for my kids, but I'm finishing it for me

My name is Holly and I'm 38 years old. I was a chubby child, a fat teenager, and an obese adult. I began my journey at the age of 34 weighing 307 pounds. Only being 5 feet tall, I was about 160 pounds overweight, and going to be in serious trouble if I didn't change my life.

I'm a social worker for a hospital, I've been married for 13 years, and have 2 awesome kids who are 10 and 8. I decided that I wasn't going to be the fat mom anymore so I joined Spark in June 2010, and started a journey to a healthier lifestyle not only for me, but for my family as well.

I've lost 100 pounds as of September 5, 2011. I've really been struggling ever since I hit that milestone.

I finally made it to ONEderland October 17, 2011 after 16 months and 2 days!

After speaking with my doctor on December 29, 2011 we talked about my health and my age and that a great goal weight would be about 140-145. If I stay under 150, she'll be happy, and I'll be ELATED!!! We also reviewed blood work that I had done (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL/LDL, etc) and she said the numbers are fantastic. Not just for an overweight person, but for ANYONE, WooHoo!

I'm hoping to get to my goal weight by December 20, 2013, My 38th Birthday.

***EDIT*** My weight loss has slowed dramatically, and a lot of that has been my own doing, lol! I've changed the date to reach my goal to... whenever I get there. I'm too happy living my life to say no to a piece of cake, or a slice of pizza.

HOLLYS_NEW_LIFE enjoyed my son's birthday dinner at a BBQ joint... only ate 1/2 of what I ordered, and I didn't eat the side dishes, SCORE!

Holly look at how far you have come! Don't hate yourself at all. You should be singing and celebrating. I understand you have had some bumps in the road, but what a better lesson for your kids to see, that even if something doesn't go right the first time you try again and again. You can do this! I know you can.
Take a few moments and really think of how different your life is now. You are amazing! What you have done is amazing. You are only 30lbs from your goal. That's not really a lot. YOU CAN DO IT!! emoticon emoticon

Hi Holly, just stopping with some love and support....I truly believe in you girl and you are getting closer the those 170's, I have a ways to go to see that number, but I know I'll get there.

I hear ya! I started a new job 2 months ago & haven't tracked or cared lately, I care now b/c I'm up 7lbs!! Still 50lbs from goal! LOL! I am doing a 5% challenge and hope that helps get me on track!
