I started this for my kids, but I'm finishing it for me

My name is Holly and I'm 38 years old. I was a chubby child, a fat teenager, and an obese adult. I began my journey at the age of 34 weighing 307 pounds. Only being 5 feet tall, I was about 160 pounds overweight, and going to be in serious trouble if I didn't change my life.

I'm a social worker for a hospital, I've been married for 14 years, and have 2 awesome kids who are 11 and 9. I decided that I wasn't going to be the fat mom anymore so I joined Spark in June 2010, and ...

I'm a social worker for a hospital, I've been married for 14 years, and have 2 awesome kids who are 11 and 9. I decided that I wasn't going to be the fat mom anymore so I joined Spark in June 2010, and started a journey to a healthier lifestyle not only for me, but for my family as well.

My weight loss has slowed dramatically, and a lot of that has been my own doing. I've changed the date to reach my goal to... whenever I get there. I'm too happy living my life to say no to a piece of cake, or a slice of pizza.

*10/20/2014* And NOT saying "NO" has resulted in a 40 pound weight gain... I'm still fighting and I WILL reach my goal!

I am terrible at measuring but thought I'd do my best to let you know how I made them. I put 1/2 c. peanut butter along with one medium banana in the mixer and let it start to blend then added about 1/3 cup each of flax seeds and coconut oil (melted) and then added in about a cup and a quarter to cup and a half of rolling oats. And finally the dark chocolate chips (1/3-1/2 cup). It gets your hands messy but I just rolled them in balls and then placed on wax paper then froze them overnight. Some people like them directly out of the freezer. There are lots of variations, normally called energy bites!
