I worry about low blood sugars because if I am having numbers similar to yours to get to 100 average ( 5.0 ), then there are times when my blood sugar is lower, and times when i ate tomatoes when it is higher. If I cut out the tomatoes, and get a 30-40 point drop, who knows? I may get a low blood sugar

I have glucose tabs if that happens though.

I am finding Dr. Bernstein's book very interesting. He has explanations on the " dawn phenomenon ", exercise, and the Chinese restaurant effect, and how even low carb foods can spike blood sugars, confusing diabetics. Plus the idea of delayed stomach emptying to explain why you get a low blood sugar after a particular meal, and then much later it spikes AFTER you return to eating healthy.

I also have to agree with your idea of several posts back.. we should make a HgbA1c test part of our annual physical. It seems so simple, you wonder why it isn't automatically done.
