A journey of the chub

I haven't been in shape since.. well, puberty, really. Even so, I finally began to accept my body a few years ago, until I gained 20 lbs from depo. I still haven't been able to shake the last 10 or so lbs, and have finally gotten sick of my pants not fitting. I also tend to get sick easily, so I'd like to strengthen my body so I'm healthier.

My favorite forms of exercise (when I remember to do it/am motivated) are Zumba and using the WiiFit and Xbox Kinect. I like the yoga (even if it's not -real- yoga), and the aerobics. I do a mean advanced step, and kick butt at hula hooping.

My main problem is staying on track-- I do much better in a group setting being told what to do, and get pumped up by the group adrenaline. I LOVE my Zumba class, I've been going every Wednesday since June 8, 2011. I've followed my instructor to three different locations so far, she's that great!

My Goals:
To eat better and slim down/tone up.

My Program:
Eating more than one meal a day, and trying to get in at least 1,000 calories/day.

Personal Information:
I've been veg*n since I was about 14/15, but I eat way too many carbs and far too few calories each day. I also have a bad habit of only eating one meal a day, so that's my main focus right now.

Thanks for the photo comment -- I can see that you are, indeed, a fan of grey kitties!

Saw your comment on the Fast Food Showdown quiz, and I can totally relate. We herbivores are LUCKY to have no idea what most of those "foods" are, much less be enticed to actually eat them, lol. Have a great day!

It's definitely important to eat enough calories, so I'm glad to hear you're tracking. :) I have the opposite problem :P My work schedule messes up my eating so bad. Then when I get a break at the beginning of my shift (when most of my breaks are), I know if I don't eat a high fat meal that I'll be STARVING and grumpy within a few hours, even when I have 5-6 more hours to go. I don't get 10-15 minute breaks, just 1 - 30 minute break, if that. Zyrtec makes me very hungry as well. It's killer on my waistline. I still don't know what my trigger food is, my stomach has been acting up all week and I've been avoiding coffee. I need to start eliminating foods one by one. I may try gluten, but I really don't think that's the problem.

Have a great day :)

Fatty is just big boned :P

While I'm not tracking right now, I'm making conscious decisions to eat/drink better. My stomach is actually doing better than it was before, I was eating bad and constantly having stomach cramps and heartburn. I'm drinking more water, less Starbucks, and eating more whole foods. Commuting an hour each way and working so much has me relying on processed foods and fast food. I'm at the beginning stages of trying to buy a house closer to work so hopefully that will give me more time to cook once I get it :)

I wish we lived nearby so we could be each other's motivator! And we could get Fatty in on the action :P
