Running Chef

Everybody knows that a healthy diet is vital to losing weight and becoming more fit. Still, most health foods are either not as healthy as they look or they don't taste all that great.

As somebody who LOVES to cook, there was never any chance that I was going to not continue to eat very delicious food. So, I studied up on nutrition and applied my knowledge of cooking to find ways of preparing healthy, filling, delicious food.

It's not exactly "health nut" food, ...

As somebody who LOVES to cook, there was never any chance that I was going to not continue to eat very delicious food. So, I studied up on nutrition and applied my knowledge of cooking to find ways of preparing healthy, filling, delicious food.

It's not exactly "health nut" food, but it is well rounded and good for you and I NEVER skimp on flavor.

I'm always trying something new, so I hope to add new foods from new cuisines all of the time. And I'll teach you some techniques to making it come out right.

My Goals:
My current physique goal is to lose 34 pounds down to 210 pounds by the end of November.

I can run two miles in 14:03. My goals are to be able to run the mile in under 6:30 (I'm at 6:51 right now) and two run two miles at 14:00 (I'm at 14:03 right now). My goal is to run three miles in 23:00. My current best is 23:30. My goal is to run four miles in 31 minutes. My current best is 31:56. And five miles in 42 minutes. My current best is 43:47.

My Program:
I am a pretty good cook, so I've been cooking healthy, filling food for quite awhile. I've been using my knowledge of nutrition and cooking to get myself eating healthier. I just started to count calories which I haven't done before. I'm not going to artificially lower my calories so much as figure out what eating different amounts of calories feels like.

I'm combining this with running to meet my physique goal.

As for my running goals, I plan on doing varied runs of different distances. I will do short runs of a mile to keep improving my speed and working my fast twitch muscles. I will run longer distances to build up my endurance and I'll work a bit on strength training. The truth is that I have a very strong core naturally, so that won't be as much of a priority for me.

Personal Information:
I'm a mathematics student who plans to one day be a university professor. I love cooking and cook for my church every other week. I also cook for myself and am constantly trying new things.

I really never use recipes and instead learn the theory and idea behind a dish. I then look at several variations of a certain dish and try to figure out what each component does. I then add my own twist to make it tastier and more healthy.
