AHA! I suspected he let himself out as us horse girls are very careful with gates, especially on the stallions! Glad you figured it out. I remember you telling me about the hunter shooting one of your horses, he must have been half blind to think he was a deer. Glad you got some kind of recompense even though it wasn't much.
Yes, our cremello paint stallion used to love to roll in the black mud, half the time he was half black with mud! I would take him out and bathe him and when I let him loose, he headed right for the mud! Impossible to keep clean!! I understand your pain with him rolling in his urine all the time! 48 days ago
So was he actually out with the mares? Do you think he bred any of them? What a nightmare that would be to find something like that. We kept our stallion in a separate run totally from the mares, and he also had his own barn. He could easily see the mares though and they could come up to the 6 foot alley which separated their pen from his. We hand bred everything so had control over who got bred.
Your boy was good though to agree to go with you when he was out there having so much fun! I don't think ours would have been that agreeable! Thank goodness you got him back in his stall without him hurting you. Do you think that he managed to trip the latch on his stall? We had chains around all of our gates that kept the horses in, so if they got the latch open, the chain held the gate shut.
Yes, we like to leave Texas in the summer but the rest of the year, we LOVE it here! I would NEVER go back to Michigan to live now, knowing that Texas is so much milder weather wise. (that and a few other reasons )
I THOUGHT you must know better than that. The picture I used to have on there was a head shot of a Palomino Paint filly by our stallion, Final Review APHA and out of an APHA solid mare. I don't have the picture on this computer so I can't send it to you, but I do have a picture of our Paint colt by the same stallion if you want to use that. He is also a Palomino Paint. I didn't get your request for a picture of a Paint horse or I would have sent you that one.
Glad that you have all the horses taken care of. That is always a good feeling. Good luck at the shows this year, hope you will keep us updated.
Yes, we are enjoying the new house, but didn't mind living in our RV at all, it was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Our current RV is even easier to live in than the one we had then! It even has a coat closet at the front door! (and, two kitchens and 3 TV's) Getting ready to get out of Texas for the summer, to a cooler location! 50 days ago
