Journey back to me

It is silly at best to wish to be 21 again, to hope for the return of that toned body, tight skin, sparkling eyes, and boundless energy. It is a waste of time to wish I'd appareciated youth more when I had it. What I want to do now, what I wish to do, what I need to do is accept who I am, where I am, and welcome my present and my future with open arms and an open mind.

I am so tired of making excuses, I'm tired of dieting, I'm tired of starting over, I'm tired of talking about ...

I am so tired of making excuses, I'm tired of dieting, I'm tired of starting over, I'm tired of talking about it, reading about it, and VERY tired of my half-hearted attempts at it. With a new month I've made a new commitment and, I will admit, this time it feels different. Maybe I'm just tired but I really do feel different since I came to some realizations tonight as I typed out my blog. There is a clarity of mind that has been missing before. This time really IS going to be different.

Twenty-one will never rear her lovely head again. But fifty-four can still be good, even great IF I take care of me, stop making excuses, work hard, be honest, and be consistent. I look forward to tomorrow. I look forward to who I'm becoming.

My Goals:
Get to my normal weight. Get toned and strong. Improve flexibility and balance.

Enjoy the process.

My Program:
Three days a week I do 30 min cardio and 30 min strength training at a local gym three days each week. Two or three of the other days I go for a brisk 30 min walk alone or with my sisters. For nutrition I have started using the tracker since I decided to quit Weight watchers.

Personal Information:
I live in Illinois and am currently unemployed - I'm one of the former state workers laid off to balance the budget. My love and I are both in our 50's and never had kids. Since I may never find work here again, we are trying to decide where we want to live out our golden years. He would like to go overseas, I would like to remain in the states.

Other Information:
Love reading Dean Koontz, Sue Grafton, Agatha Christie, so many more. I'd read for a living if anyone would pay me!

Doing family history research on our Coogan line from Ireland. HELP!

Hope you got caught up on your sleep! I just stopped by to say hello! I'm finally feeling better and able to go visiting! The pic of the hot cocoa reminds me of my new found love. Chocolate flavored Silk soy milk. It is no fat, high in calcium and protein, and tastes great heated up in the microwave. All I need are some marshmallows! Take care and have a great weekend!

Ha ha ha I was thinking the same thing about him reading all the comments. It'll teach him to butt out and mind his own business.

Hope you had a great day!
