My Goals:
BE HEALTHY!

I'm breaking up my long term (total) weight loss goal into smaller segments with benchmark dates. The total weight loss amount is overwhelming. The smaller increments aren't as intimidating.

So regardless of what my tracker says, I've got a LOT more to lose than that.

My Program:
Vegetarian diet - "nearly" vegan. Reducing carbs, limiting sugar, adding healthy fats (small servings of almonds, olives), weaning myself off diet pop, adhering to a regular, routine eating schedule.

As for fitness...anything I can do with an injured foot and ankle - mainly swimming.

Personal Information:
Vegetarian, (have been full vegan a few times but find it too difficult to monitor and maintain 100%), Chicago (city) resident.

Other Information:
Music lover, book reader, professional designer.

Exercising my writing muscles, too. I try to blog every day. It forces me to spend some much needed "me time" doing something I enjoy. Someday I want those writing muscles to be agile and have enough stamina to face the challenge of writing a book and strong enough to handle the publishing submission process.

See, I knew exercise was bad for you!

Seriously, though, I hope you didn't hurt yourself too badly. You need to look after that foot of yours. Take it easy.

PS: Well done on reaching the 30lbs mark. emoticon

I had to take iron a couple of times when I was anemic. Can you say c-o-n-s-t-i-p-a-t-i-o-n? emoticon

I've been tracking iron on spark and I never get enough. I take a daily multi with iron, though. I had no idea how little iron I got until I tracked it on spark. I agree with you on how great it is to be able to do that!

I've also experienced the neon you were talking about! Good thing we don't have to worry because it's a water soluble vitamin.

If I get one I'll let you know. I see that you can get one for about $100 that has the calories burned feature. I don't know what the chest strap would be like. It seems like the watch style ones that you can touch to get your heart rate would be more comfortable. I don't know, it's all still new. I'm looking, though!

Fitness: I try to enter it on spark because it's motivating to me to see the calories burned. That's why I was thinking a heart rate monitor might be a good thing. Also, I haven't found the good range of calories that I lose on yet. The calorie calculators online don't help. They say my resting metabolic rate is higher than what I usually eat each day. It's so confusing and frustrating.

Ah, well. Keep on keepin' on I say.

Do you have a heart rate monitor? Or have you been thinking about getting one by any chance? I'm reading about them and really want one. How cool would it be to have a contraption that told you how many calories you burned. That would be motivating!
