I thank my precious Abba Father (Creator God) for all He has allowed, is allowing, & will allow in my life! May all the glory for any modest successes achieved on this lifestyle changing journey be His & His alone! Amen & Amen!

Life is good - it always has been - however, there is a special new sweetness to it since I determined to stop playing around & get serious about following my program.

Like I said - life is good!

P.S. ~

The 'Twin Visitors" photograph was taken in early July. I looked out the window & had the pleasant experience of being eye-to-eye with one of them. Their Mama was right with them in the trees outside the window. They were so adorably cute!

My dearly treasured "Mr.V" quickly got the camera & took a few photographs. I think it is so cute how one seems to be posing for the picture to be snapped, while his twin is eagerly following their Mama!

Without having investigated the ketogenic diet, it does seem that eating that way is very high fat &, thus, brings with it the added "opportunity" of high cholesterol.

***It is the fat that fills one up and also won't raise blood glucose. There are foods that are not allowed on the ketogenic diet I follow. I am not allowed milk, yogurt or ice cream. No pastas, potatoes, rice, white bread, no fruit or fruit juices. Yes, it does raise cholesterol and most doctors hate the diet, but people have been able to come off of diabetic medications and cut insulin dosages. It also reduces weight.

I had used non-fat milk for years (in my "cuppas" & in the occasional bowl of cereal) & had absolutely no problems with my cholesterol being higher than it should be. Then for some reason (I cannot for the life of me remember why) I decided that I would use whole milk. My next blood work showed a higher reading for my cholesterol. I went back to non-fat milk & with my next blood work my cholesterol was back to where it should be. I definitely would not willingly go back to regular milk.

*** I use a tablespoon of heaving whipping cream in my coffee. I am to eat 20 carbs or lower a day. One cup of Total raisin bran cereal, no milk has 40 carbs in it, just an example of the difference in what others eat and what I eat. It has been the stuff off the plan that has caused my weight to go up.

When you talked of your husband's continual cough I was reminded of two times. (1) Some years ago now an older gal in my UMW Unit had the same type situation going on...she coughed incessantly for literally months...I would be in one part of the church & could hear her coughing at the other end of the huge building. I did not understand her bullheadedness in feeling she had the right to spread the germs = just because she did not want to miss out on anything the UMW was doing. She was, also, in another group that I briefly visited a few times & did the same thing there. I felt for her to have that cough for so long a time & at the same time found it annoying that she did not seem to consider the health of others as she went about doing what she wanted to do. Finally, she was cough free; however, I wonder how many people ended up with that same cough because she "shared it so willingly"! Grrrrrr! (2) Some twenty-five years ago now, we went to the movie house & while standing in line the guy ahead of us turned around & coughed literally right into my beloved MrV's face (the guy was obviously trying not to cough on the people he was with, but gave absolutely no thought to anyone else). It wasn't long before MrV ended up with a horrible cold that ended up producing the same cough he had been "introduced" to by that extremely thoughtless guy ahead of us in that line. Again, hear my resounding Grrrrrr!!!!

Well, enough of my not so pleasant memories connected to coughs! emoticon

***I said in front of my son and daughter-in-law, that I felt my husband would not go to a doctor because as he got sicker and sicker, he would get more sympathy. It made my DIL angry that I would say such a thing, but that is the pattern of my husband. I told him that it makes me angry that he may infect many others because of this behavior. I read on Spark People that this is a common behavior among men not to go to a doctor when they are sick.

I do hope that our Abba gives His wisdom to all those working to help solve the mystery of what is going on in your body.

***Me too, at this age, age 66, I have a hard time just keeping up to what needs to be done and the stones make me miserable with back aches and getting sick to my stomach, then having to spend time in the hospital.

    God bless!

***God bless you, Ima, Mr. V and Little Gal.
