Here's to a healthier, happier new year ahead in 2018!

I've made many improvements since January 1, 2010, when I first joined SparkPeople, but I'm still working to be a better me. This program helps me to focus more on my health, and I have made many great SparkFriends whose strength, motivation, and encouragement have helped me along this life journey.

Thank you, SparkPeople!

School shootings are nightmares. And I understand how any threat these days could produce an unbearable amount of tension for family members. I am glad that everything turned out well at your grandkids' school.

Thanks for responding to my 'recycle' blog . . . The twist tie I found in the garage, had never been used. While walking my dog, I began to roll and twist it . . . then the creative side of my brain says "what if I drip alcohol in on this" . . . .

Since it is paper (not plastic), it soaked it right up. I used ultraviolet and a deep blue. Then let it bake in the sunny window. They drizzled some opal or pearl in a couple spots. let it dry again.

After completely drying, I used some Vintaj sealer (tho verathane or most anything would have worked too)

I've worn it several times (i always do a few 'test runs' just to make sure) and it is quite sturdy.

Thanks for having some fun with me! I love to recycle, especially when it can be beautiful. In fact have a whole line of jewelry made from recycled stuff.

Did you see the turquoise earrings I made using the metal washers from the oil filter gasket of my motorcycle?

I'm thinking the bluebonnets are still a bit early (cold winter) because they looked a bit sparse to me.... Saddest thing to lose that giant voluptuous patch there where the construction on Loop 337 has obliterated its potential (Loop 337 and River Road)

I have been missing our Craft Play Day SO MUCH! I could use some art therapy! And the therapy that comes from enjoying good friends!
