The pink monkey bikini and the 5K - you've got to feed the fire to burn the fat.

It's not what I did, but what I do next that will set the course for success.
My goals have changed since I started this journey to health. The bikini is still part of that journey, but it has become more over time. For the first time in my life I am embracing exercise and nutrition changes that serve me well.
The big goal carrot right now is a finishers medal for a 5K in 2010. After that, who knows?

As for that bikini, it's cute, pink, covered in monkeys and palm trees and sitting in the dresser drawer right now. I will wear it on the beach again.

"Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning." - Gloria Steinem

"In life, many thoughts are born in the course of a moment, an hour, a day. Some are dreams, some visions. Often, we are unable to distinguish between them. To some, they are the same; however, not all dreams are visions. Much energy is lost in fanciful dreams that never bear fruit. But visions are messages from the Great Spirit, each for a different purpose in life. Consequently, one person's vision may not be that of another. To have a vision, one must be prepared to receive it, and when it comes, to accept it. Thus when these inner urges become reality, only then can visions be fulfilled. The spiritual side of life knows everyone's heart and who to trust. How could a vision ever be given to someone to harbor if that person could not be trusted to carry it out. The message is simple: commitment precedes vision." - High Eagle

My Goals:
1) July 8, 2010 - Storm the Bastille 5K Run - Milw. WI

My Program:
I am using the nutrition tracker to track my eating habits. I have added exercise to the mix - walking, snowshoeing and strength training. I'll start C25K training as soon as I can run safely outside. I am using the resources available to me through this site to develop better life habits and educate myself.

Personal Information:
I love to read, have two cats - Phoenix and Kitty, am married to a wonderful man and live in the woods where we are regularly visited by deer, turkeys and too many racoons and chipmunks. My favorite vacation spot is a beach in Jamaica where I can spend the day in the water, walking the beach or sitting under a tree reading and relaxing. I think life without laughter is unacceptable.

Other Information:
My January goals:
1) Increase exercise intensity and duration. Check
2) Continue to stay within my ranges 95-100% of the time. CHECK - 100% in range
3) Complete goal #5 from December goals before the end of January. Check - had Christmas on January 2.
4) Add core exercises 3 x per week. Need to work on this one yet. Some progress in the right direction.
My February Goals:
1) Increase run/walk ratio on treadmill.
2) Continue to stay in 95-100% nutrients range.
3) Enter 130'sville
4) Get 130'sville haircut goal reward

Well, okay, since you put it that way, the Saints win is a good thing...for N'Owlens! The mister said all along that it would go that way because our defense was so soft the second half.

They just said 5-9 more inches of snow starting after midnight tonight. yay. emoticon

Thanks for the coffee. I am actually having real coffee, so the perfect goodie.

Glad to hear the fog is clearing. Bet the house looks terrific today. I love a clean house, not so crazy about all the work it takes to get it there.

I am planning a long walk today in the sunshine. Had a slug of a day yesterday. Don't need to repeat that. Enjoy the day, thanks for checking in with me. emoticon Sandy

Hi Eileen -- just wanted to stop by to see how things were going with you and now I see your wonderful new background -- beautiful! It's so cold today that it makes spring seem so far off, but these flowers are a lovely reminder of the promise of warmer weather soon.

I hope that you're having a fabulous weekend!
