The best is yet to come!

Hi. Thanks for checking out my Spark Page. I'm Eileen and people call me Ei. I live in Ohio!

Isn't SparkPeople.com wonderful? I really love it and it sure is helping me in my journey. This website was recommended to me when I asked my doctor how I could lose weight. Wow! I am so glad I asked her that question!

I went to Weight Watchers for several years off and on and did lose, but then put it back on when I stopped going.
In September 2010 when I discovered Spark People and read the book, it really got me motivated to make a decision. I decided I wanted a healhier lifestyle and knew I needed to make a change. I was doing the WW Points plan-- on my own with the help of Spark People.

Spark got me going and then the new WW Points plus plan came out and I decided to change from WW points- on my own to the new plan.
In December of 2010 , I re-joined for the new WW Points Plus Program for three months. It was a early Christmas gift to myself, since I know ----I am worth it!!
Now, since early March 2011, I am doing the program on my own. I have a long way to go, but know this program will keep me on top of things.
I have a few health problems that sometimes interfere
with my exercising plans, but am striving to improve on this. I am hoping my health will actually be much better by my activity and healthier lifestyle.
One day at at time I will get there. It may take me longer than I planned, but I will not give up. My journey is moving in the right direction and I am on this with all of you. Let's help each other get there. Thanks for being here Spark People!

Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes -- the same to you and your family. There is a lot to be grateful for in this blessed and abundant life we live and I am most grateful for the health and ability to express it.

Good morning to you, Ei. I wanted to let you know that I had my fist P/T appt. where they show you what you do and they want us to get started doing them every day up until surgery and then of course, afterwards too. My DH (my coach!) and I also took the Joint Replacement Class when they went through what all to expect and what to bring to the hospital, etc. Interesting! I already did my first set of P/T this morning and will do another one this afternoon. Each time takes around 1/2 hr. They really are pushing ones to have a coach and have the coach push them every day in the home instead of going to town to do it 3x/week. etc. They say that this has been working very well because the coach is usually a spouse or a good friend and they can really crack the whip and get success out of the patient. Ha! It one doesn't have a coach, then they can get home health arranged to help them and if one can't do that, then the nursing home in the last resort. They said that hardly anyone goes to the nursing home anymore, so that's a plus! I sure wouldn't want to!! I wanted to give you the latest and to let you know that I'm really revved to do this. They say that the better you do this beforehand, like you said, the better the success and less pain. Yippee, I'll take it! Hugs to you Ei!

Thank you, my dear friend for your sweet comment on my grocery shopping activity. I read here on SP that 35 min. of shopping burns 100 calories so I can use that! And with a shopping cart, it's easier on my knee and feet. I'm doing pretty good in the knee dept. because the cortisone shot is still working well. By the time my surgery comes around, on Dec. 15th, I may be tipping over quite a bit more and that will make me feel more ready for it! emoticon No doubt! I appreciate you telling me too, that you wish you could help me, if you lived closer. That was so sweet and kind and I won't ever forget it. Thanks for being such a tremendous buddy!

Hugs, Karen
