I've had a life-long battle with my weight and joined SparkPeople several years ago as I was trying to get my life back during a very messy divorce. From a high of 250 lbs I've gotten as low as 170 and have settled in at about 190. I feel great, look younger than I did 10 years ago and have discovered my inner athlete. From a high of 250 lbs I've gotten as low as 170 and have settled in at about 190. I feel great, look younger than I did 10 years ago and have discovered my inner athlete. I work full-time and have four kids (ages 8-11), so finding the time to eat right and work out can be a real balancing act, but fortunately I have a very supportive husband and have found a community of active friends.

Over the past couple of years I've done half-marathons, a full marathon, cross-country skiing ultra-marathons (160KM over 2 days),cycling "double centuries" (180KM per day for 2 days) and just recently completed my first full Ironman triathlon (Swim 4KM, Bike 180KM and Run 42KM) and most recently completed the Goofy Challenge at DisneyWorld (half marathon on Saturday, full marathon on Sunday). I was never athletic growing up and was fairly sedentary for most of my adult life, so I point out these milestones just to say that if I can do it anyone can do it!

I know that being a bit leaner would make me faster and my lessen my likelihood of injury, so I'm looking to lose 15-20 lbs. My short-term goal is to lose 5-7 lbs by February 8th when I will be skiing the Canadian Ski Marathon.

My Goals:
I'd like to lose 15-20 bs and get leaner - lose some fat, maintain the muscle.

By February 8th I would like to lose 5 lbs

By May 25th (Ottawa Marathon) I would like to be at my goal weight.

My Program:
I'm planning to follow the principles of "Racing Weight" - a plan for endurance athletes

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. I'm anxiously waiting for the photo cd to get here so I can access the photos. I've viewed them and can't wait to see them without the Proof line across it as there are some good ones of us crossing the finish line. I'm still recovering from the marathon as I still have my injuries to deal with, but am taking things a bit slow.
Now that we have done a full marathon, we are looking towards training for a Half Ironman too. emoticon

I have to congratulate you on your recent Ironman & your Ultras! I do Sprint Tris now and hope to graduate to an eventual Ironman in the future! Outstanding effort!
