I've changed my LifeStyle, for the Better and lost Weight, through a 5% Challenge, and you can too!

I took a 5% Challenge this Spring 2014, and am I ever glad I did.
I lost 10% who wouldn't be happy with that?
I began Tracking my Nutrition, even before I knew how to use the tracker, same for my Fitness.
I began to WANT to track my calories, to see if I actually could eat 1200 to 1500 Calories, in order to lose a pound or two a week.
Who knew it was possible to be full, and happy with what I ate to stay within that range.
Plus I was seldom hungry. Except for the ...

May 2014 - I Believe I have become Unstoppable. This is One Month into my Personal Best Efforts. I am on a Streak right to Goal Weight, and into Maintenance. I will not Sabotage all of my Best Efforts. I am using SparkCoach, plus I have the support of so many great SparkFriends. My family are all eating and living healthy, and we completed a 3.5 mile run, (I walked), but we did this together. And it was Awesome. And we did it for an excellent cause. I will overhaul my page and update as I progress.

May 2013 - I haven't reached my weight goal. I have watched my scale and it's gone down and up again. I need to restart, and make my permanent change my goal. Permanent Lifestyle Change. I have no other choice left open to me, but to get the job done.

Sept 12 2011My current GOAL is to find Success in CONSISTENCY Making Good CHOICES 1 at a time(Thanks DARKTHOR) Planning Healthy, Low-Cal Meals Planning & Tracking Calories & Exercise Enjoying the process, and the changes in my lifestyle because its all part of the Journey. My Goals:
My initial weight loss goal was 50lbs. January 2012, I am setting a more realistic goal, one that's attainable. I want to lose 30 pounds.

My Program:
I have always been a walker. Although lately I began to run. But I walk then run a a few times 3.5 miles. And I enjoy it!
But mainly I walk and then if I feel ready to jog I will for a time, then switch back.


Personal Information:
I'm 33 years married. I have a great family and support system. I have finally learned to put myself first, It only took 52 years!! I am making a complete lifestyle change. That was the year I decided to travel to Spain, and walk for 6 weeks, along the Camino de Santiago. It was life chainging. Also, I started cycling, Summer 2010.

HI Carrol,,,, do U know why I have volunteered to be the CL??? When the puters first came out,, in 95ish for home use,, without DOS,,, and on Windows 95,,, LOL Remember THOSE DINOSAURS??? LOL my Grands think they are sooo funny and OLD and HUGE compared to the tablets,, Mini tablets,,, etc phones..

Well back in the late 90s,, when AOL was "THE IN THING" i joined in right off,,,,,, than was asked to be a "host",,,, than I was asked if I wanted to teach a class once a week,, to about 50ish people,,,, I had to do my own material,, which had to be in earilr on,, for approval ,,, I JUMPED at that ALSO. I had been working right before this,,, in management,,, and I LOVED my job So this was a good way I figured to keep active should I be able to return back to work.

Of course we now know,, a zillion yrs later,,,,my health kept on declining,,,,, and that it surely has,, oh well,,, i am STILL wanted,, needed,,,,, cared about as a Leader of the team. Of course being the CL would purely FLUNK and I'd get NO WHERE if it were NOT for the SUPPORT of the other Leaders,, and the team !! WHAT A TEAM WE HAVE !!! Most supportive ones for surah !!! I am GRATEFUL that you all ALLOW me to do this,, so TY for ur part !!!

While the Dr's tell me "You have the body of an 85 yr old" (I was 53 at the time),, inside ,, my spirit I feel not a day over 36 !his of course also helps me,,, let the body COMPLETELY BREAK DOWN,, as LONG as I am ALIVE,,, I'll always smile for life is a GIFT from Jehovah and of course as much as I love doing SPARKS,,,,, my real purpose in life,,, is to teach others about Jehovah. I used to feel well enough to go from door to door,,,, now I do not,,,, bu i still have this desire,,, and it SPURS ME ON !! Also to make most of the meetings at the hall,, see those I've been friends with,, more of a family than "friends" ,, we call each other brother/sisters,,,, its soo loving and kind,,, I am so grateful that whatever Jehovah saw in me,, back when I was teen,,, to serve him,,,, I am blessed. This is also why,, and the largest part,, for my happiness.

I've gotten so much from you too.

I am finally just going to say I am in maintenance because I think between SADD and the weight bouncing around, I just can't take the stress. If I can maintain where I am I will be thrilled. I am tracking every-other-day which right now is about all I feel like doing. And, of course, my walking daily, lol.

Bursitis moves around! My mom had it in her shoulder and I discovered a few years back that it can (and did) travel from joint to joint on me! You won't believe this but if you'll do the WATP it will help! I couldn't lift my arm before and now I can raise it all the way, even behind my back! Give it a try, slowly, and see if her movements don't help you. I was shocked and thrilled!
