Hi! Welcome to my Spark Page!

Recently I reached a 30-pound loss since I started my weight loss journey a year ago. It hasn't been an easy journey, but I'm still motivated to continue and achieve my weight goal.

Being 30 pounds lighter, I'm almost where I want to be; and I'm proud of myself for this achievement. I still have 10 more pounds to lose, but I'm confident I will reach my goal soon. I made the choice to make my life different. The farther behind I leave those pounds, the closer I'm to change my lifestyle. I will persevere in my pursuit for optimum health. With my new found confidence I feel like I can do anything!

The Spark community has a lot to offer! It is a great site. I encourage you to take advantage of all the support, encouragement and motivation you can get through its members. I'm sharing my experiences with you to convince you there is HOPE. Yes, YOU CAN DO THIS!

About Me... (Introduction)

In June 2008, I had an "aha" moment and promised myself I was going to finally lose weight for good and stay healthy.

I have dealt with weight problems over the years (sometimes with more success than others). I realized that I have a pattern of getting out of shape every 10 years!! Each time, I will try a different diet or exercise routine and lose weight. Unfortunately, the results will only last for a while. Eventually I will stop maintenance and the weight will come back again.

I was frustrated about this 10-year pattern. I decided to stop complaining about my weight and resolve to take charge of my life. In August 2008 I enrolled in Weight Watchers. In March 2009 I started an exercise program at Curves. With diet and exercise I have managed to lose 28 pounds, 15 more to lose to achieve my weight goal.

This time, I'm taking one step at a time. I want to develop a healthy lifestyle so that I don't have to ever diet again. I know that when I put my mind into it, I CAN DO whatever I'm determined to do at that point. It doesn't matter how long it takes, I know that with perseverance I CAN reach my goal.

I'm looking forward to reaching my goal!!!.

My Goals:
(1) To develop a healthier lifestyle;
(2) get fit; and
(3) to lose 10 more pounds and reach goal (130 lbs) by 12/2009.

Strategy to achieve my goals:

1. To continue on Weight Watchers Momentum program to reach my weight goal and eventually maintain weight loss. Eat more vegetables/fruits, drink 8 glasses of water a day and work on portion control.

2. To incorporate exercise as part of my daily routine. Aim to get 150 mins. of exercise per week at Curves (training circuit). Walk 45 minutes on weekends.

3. To look for ways to stay motivated; focus on the weight loss achieved so far instead of setbacks.

4. To remind myself that:

My Program:
I'm a Weight Watchers member since 8/2008. I have lost 28 lbs so far; but I still need to lose 15 lbs more to reach my goal!

I'm also a Curves member since 3/2009. I do their 30 min. circuit training and stretching 3 to 4 days a week. I also walk 30 to 45 mins. on weekends.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I lived 18 yrs in Texas; moved to California in 2005.

I enjoy reading, sewing, and walking. I love to travel.
