Reasons for wanting to be healthy! (Sept 2010)
Welcome to my little piece of the web. I am glad you stopped by! I have started and stopped so many times, I can not count them. However, the good news is each moment, I get another chance to make the healthier choice for me.

I am a wife to my best friend of 17 years.
I am homeschooling momma of 5. (yup I like my kids. They are really cool people God is sharing with me!)
I am the mother of a beautiful big-hearted dd is 16 .
I am a mother of a wild ds who is 14.
I am a mother of a sweet & shy ds who is 9 but trying to follow in his brothers footsteps.
I am a mother of a ds who is 5 - whom I am trying to keep a baby as long as possible despite HIS protest : )
I am a mother of a dd, who is soon to be 3, who is growing up waaaay to fast and wants to be like her "second mommy" and sings word for word some pop culture songs : / !
I am a mother of an almost 6 month old, who is also growing up too fast!
In all my spare time, (ha ha) I read, surf the web and read others blogs, blog myself, exercise (I hope), sew, scrapbook, bake cookies, have a perfect house and volunteer.... oooh oooh I am not suppose to dreaming here... ROFLMBO
Actually I almost NEVER have spare time but I do blog heree (not so much in the last 2 yrs) often mostly what I learn in my quiet time with God, exercise almost every other day (trying to develop a new habit!). As for the sewing, and scrapbooking well.. those are get around to it projects which I haven't manage to get around too in awhile.. the baking cookies ...lol... that depends on what holiday we are near...or if I need a coping mechanism : O ..snicker.. Can you guess that kind? And the volunteering... that is coming in my "golden years" season... And the perfect house, welll that truly is ONLY in my dreams... LOL. My goal NOW is to not trip and fall over stuff... Is a perfect house in my dreams?.... Nah! I hope to never have a perfect house.. because that means NO ONE in my family is living there. HA!
I am on this journey to become healthy because:
I want more energy!
I want my clothes to fit.
I am ready to shed some (lots of) pounds!
I want to feel like a woman, not a marshmellow, a shapless blob.
I want to be a sexy wife, for my hunky hubby!
They say it is not all about the destination (although I, for one, will be happy to get "there") but it is also about the JOURNEY.
I hope you will join me on the JOURNEY..
I think the toughest part is the making ME a priority.. I am going to work on that...
I have been reading that the most valuable key is CONSISTENCY! OUCH! I am horrid at consistency, but this is my goal!

I can not give up.

When I slip or fall I must GET BACK UP AGAIN.

Making weekly goals
I am shooting for working out 3 days a week for 30 min a day. I will up this as time goes on.
I want exercise to be NEEDED habit.
I am a SAHH(homeschooling)momma of 5. My hubby used to work crazy hours but now is on a regular schedule so we are adjusting to a new life. I wish for more hours in the day:)
However, I have to remember that God gave me enough hours in the day to do the things HE expects me to do.
I love to do quiet time early in the mornings when the house is silent and still. I can listen to my windchimes tinkle in the soft morning breeze and listen for God's instructions on what to focus on just for today!

I too have started and stopped many times and struggled with various weight loss programs over the years, gaining and losing hundreds of pounds. My husband and I have been doing the PRISM Weight Loss Program since the end of July, and this has really been working for us. We are dedicating ourselves to a life style change, and committing ourselves through our faith. I also still use Spark People to log all of the food and activities. I'm tackling this from several angles. I had loss 9 pounds prior to starting this program and that took 5 months. Since I started the PRISM weight loss program I've dropped another 37 pounds for a total of 46 pounds. My husband has loss 45 pounds (he's had several knee surgeries, which has slowed his progress since he can't be active). I still have a long way to go, but feel like I've made some significant changes to our life style.
But no matter what keep it up and work on making the changes to your life that will result in achieving your goals. Believe in yourself!
