Our son took this picture (haha can't you tell!) Here with my beloved husband.

My son returned from a week of Science camp...HONEST MOMENT: I'm hiding my weight behind him.

2010, we took a day trip to visit a rose garden and hike up a waterfall.

I have 3 pics in my gallery

My Journey to Health

I have been searching for health for 17 years and have made progress in a few areas. One area -and the reason I joined Sparkpeople - is that I have had high blood pressure for 12 years. I want to lose weight to see if that will make my situation change because all tests come back normal repeatedly. I have a young son and I want to live a long and productive life with my husband.

My Goals:
1. Drink water!!!!

2. Reduce my weight hoping that will reduce my blood pressure.

3. Getting back to being active!

My Program:
My Goals:
To restore what God has given me because the Holy Spirit resides in me by trying to nourish myself spiritually and physically as He intended. My largest goal is to lose weight so I can get off of blood pressure medicine that doesn't seem to help me. I am eating raw during the day and having a meal with my family in the evening. Drinking 8 glasses of water seems to be the hardest thing because I don't stop once I start something so I'm not thinking about what else I should be doing.

I want to exercise at least 30 minutes a day and extend that as I am able. I will include strength training as soon as I am able.

Personal Information:
My name is Catherine, from Pleasanton, CA.
Married 26 years on June 2, I have a 13-yr old son. I have degree in Art, but it is in hiatus right now as I raise my son and get healthy. I love reading God's word, old classic movies, as well as Masterpiece classics like Jane Austen. I love dancing although I don't get to anymore but have taken lessons in classical steps. I enjoy reading but haven't read for fun since I found out my son was diagnosed with some challenges...I read research to try to help him. I served in the military for 12 years. I am a SAHM due to my son's schedule and I enjoy it.

How are you doing????? It has been a LONG time. Hope your sparking is going well.

Despite life's events I have maintained and feeling good, so that's positive.

DS joined Army and goes to basics March 5th 2012. He'll be in Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri. His job is combat engineer. To put it simply (in his words) ". . .we build things and blow 'em up." A;lrighty then . . . that's a succinct job description if I ever heard one!

Keep sparking and thinking of you.

I am doing good today!! How are you? Not sure if you have read my blogs but we go back to the Dr today for my husband. He had his colon removed last year in what they call a 3 stage surgery and about 2 months after the last surgery he got an infection that we just can not get rid of. So cross your fingers that we can get an antibiotic that will kill the infection!!

Have a great day!!!!!
