No fear...

I have always been fit--but with that, my weight has always fluctuated. I have a small frame, so even a little weight gain looks unflattering on me. Having been so active in undergrad and grad school, I need to spend a lot of time working out in order to just maintain my weight--losing is the true challenge.

Having been so active in undergrad and grad school, I need to spend a lot of time working out in order to just maintain my weight--losing is the true challenge.

I am a carb LOVER in all ways. I love sugar and pasta--two things that I know I have to curb if I want to make it to my goal weight. I also need to quit smoking as my way of relieving stress because I know it is not doing me any good (UPDATED: BEEN SOBER FROM SMOKING completely NOT EVEN SOCIALLY since August 15, 2011). It's a horrible habit that I have to break---which seems more like the story of my life--a life of bad habits.


I have so many goals so I wanted to put them up here to remind myself of them.

~get to my goal weight of 120 (done)
~quit smoking for good (Accomplished!!)
~quit drinking as often as I do (done)
~find time for me to get more sleep and focus on stressing less (In pogress)
~run a 5K and follow through with actually doing it --Cleveland Mini Marathon October 6, signed up!! (DONE!!!!)
~go to church more often (in progress)
~balance in my life

Sometimes I think I need a kick in the butt to be where I want to be, but I know I can do it. It's the fear that holds me back. I can't be scared anymore. I know it is going to be hard. I know it is going to take commitment and a lot of work. I know its not going to be easy. But I owe this to myself and for once in my life, I need to be a little selfish.

So, here's to a new day, a new try, and no fear....

Rewards:
Lose 5 lbs: Nails (done)
Run 4 miles full out: body massage (done)
Lose 10 lbs: indulge in a few spray tans (done)
Run a 5K: but a new sweatshirt from KSU (DONE!! 10-6)
lose 15 lbs: new sexy undergarments :) (done)
Run a 10K: a night at a hotel!
Lose 20 lbs: Weekend getaway (done)
Lose 30 lbs: New exercise equipment (done)
Lose 35 lbs: Post a picture in a sportsbra --I NEED to do this. I have them!
Run a half marathon: New running gear (will be doing this Oct. 6th!!!!)

My Goals:
-get to my goal weight the healthy way
-work out on a consistent basis
-track my calorie intake
-quit social smoking
-quit drinking as much
-relax more and stress less

My Program:
I am tracking my food intake, watching my simple carb and candy intake (bad habits), drinking water instead of soda all together, working out in the mornings before going to work including at least 30 minutes of cardio and 30-45 minutes of weight training.

Hi! I've added you as a Spark friend..Love your dedication and hard work! I read your blog about migraines... ugh I have them too. After having a terrible experience in the ER..bad allergic reaction to the migraine cocktail...I refuse to go to the ER. My cure is to sleep them off. I just literally have to make the room completely dark, no noise and take a sleeping pill to knock me out.... I've also had Botox.. And yes it does work...being migraine free for months is heavenly. I'm sorry you've gone thru so much pain with yours. They really do hurt and shut me down completely. I could write forever on migraines!! I hope you are feeling better! emoticon
