I am 62, an Aquarius, live alone and work full-time. My days are spent walking from one piece of holy ground to the next, as is true of everyone; if only we could be more mindful of it.

What a gifted life I lead, blessings and good fortune and opportunity - all conspiring to make me happy. I recently read this: "Any God small enough for us to understand isn't big enough to do us any good. " Neat concept, huh?

Life does gets complicated all of a sudden, but then it calms down in the ebb and flow of growth. Then it cycles all over again, rinse and repeat forever and ever.

Thanks, yes, I've thought about a couple of book ideas--one about the newbie-to-Florida experience, the other basically the back-of-the-house stories behind restaurants and bars. But Florida lore is getting more and more interesting the longer I'm here.

I saw your comment on the exercise article.
Try to incorporate more walking into your normal day...
And BTW, if you do exercise significantly more, your meal may be able to be a tiny bit bigger... which might just make it all do-able. Best of success!

Actually, there was a lot more to the GramCracker story that I had to cut to make it a reasonable length. Let's see if I can remember.
When they bought that motel in upstate New York, they were less than a mile from Litchfield State Park, "the Grand Canyon of the East," with some of the most stunning waterfalls in the Northeast. This is where that Pennsylvania girl kidnapped by Indians was taken and adopted by the Seneca. She lived the rest of her life as a Seneca in the forest that became the park. And of course Lynne was fascinated with her story. I found the parallels fascinating. Here's this 21st-century woman whom life somehow draws to Indian sacred ground that has become a state park. It ended up seeming like a tangent to the Englewood history part, so I cut it. I don't know much about her husband, though I did talk to him on the phone. He's the handyman who keeps everything clean and running, after he's finished with his day job. Oh, and the Day's Inn that she owned is now run by Asians, is horrifically run down, and I hear is where you go to buy your meth. It was not so when Lynne and her son owned it. Oh, and she has custody of her grandson, who is an artistic prodigy. (I guess there was a lot else to say.)
