I am 44 years old and have been on SP for almost 2 years. It has been a slow but steady journey. I have weight loss and fitness goals for the new year, but I don't feel like I am making the same old goals out of desperation and failure. I know I can achieve my goals and that the power is mine. Current Status:
JANEMAR2 Trying a cardio bootcamp class tonight. I am nervous because it is a new trainer and I am not sure what to expect.

My Goals:
I would like to improve my 5K time. I originally posted that I wanted to simply run a full 5K. I did that and was not happy with my time so now it is time to restate that goal. I would also like to run a 10K.


My Program:
I am always tweaking my program. Right now I am working on incorporating more vegetables. Also, I track everything. Starting this year, I incorporated ST and find that I love it. Now I do 3 days of cardio and 3 days of ST with one rest day.

I just noticed your question about the mackerena plank. It's one of my favorite core moves and I do it between 3 or 6 minute sets on my bike. You go into the full plank (push up) position and then you use your hands to do the mackerena (do you remember the dance?). Use your right hand and tap your left shoulder then your right shoulder, use your left hand and tap your right shoulder then your left shoulder. Repeat this process only tap your hips this time (arm will cross under your body), then go down on your forearms and repeat. I love it!

It helps that I have always loved most vegetables so didn't have to convince myself to try this. LOL What I did with this kale today was par boil it then tossed it into a little saute pan that I had saute'd some onion and bacon....this is baby kale so not as strong and in the final product had nice flavor....but then, I like it anyway. LOL
